I made it to the orange tower! Alas, I ponder, what is the point? Cool music, lights are tied your camera rotation, the ball is ballzy. No menu screen 10/10.

the question this game is asking is something that has troubled me for a while and i still don't know the answer. All i see happening around the world is darkness and despair.
In this game, you play as a man crawling on all fours while he has a giant, very bouncy boulder strapped to his waist. You aim for a tower that's topped with orange, then hold down the forward button until you reach it. When you move the camera, the main light source that's illuminating the environment also inexplicably changes direction. Meanwhile, a timer climbs upwards. You also occasionally see a random lukewarm philosophical sentiment on screen every so often (you can summon one with the spacebar if one isn't currently being shown) Once you reach the tower, the game's title flashes and the game resets, but with the boulder glitched into the floor The minimal synth soundtrack (which is just one short ambient song) is pretty fitting and it somewhat reminiscent of Ryuichi Sakamoto's album "Async," but it doesn't last for very long before it fades out, leaving only wind sounds behind for several moments before the one and only track repeats. Aside from this, there are no sound effects in the game. It's a shame because it would have been cool if the boulder seemed like it had weight to it. I want to hear it being dragged across the floor while my character sounds like he's straining to move forward It would also have been a little more interesting for the game to call out the main objective and make it seem like it's something that the player can achieve. In the Greek myth, Sisyphus believes that he can get the boulder to the top of the hill and keep it there, but the hill is designed to slip near the top. So he learns that the task is impossible through experience, even though he's condemned to perform it. On the contrary, the player in What's The Point? is basically told that his efforts are meaningless right from the start. I mean, it's even right there in the title You'd get a better Sisyphean experience playing Cookie Clicker, and that game's free
