The whole idea is great, but the community, while still alive is small. (go to https://werewolflobbies.com/ to see current lobbies) Hands aren't motion controlled, and you need Uplay. I hope this game will eventually get bigger
Werewolves Within is a brilliant blend of small-town charm and social paranoia, wrapped in an immersive VR experience that turns your headset into a window into suspicion and deceit. Imagine Among Us meets Clue but seated around a virtual fireside in a snow-blanketed medieval village. The core gameplay is a social deduction scenario: players are seated in a circle, each randomly assigned a secret role. Some are ordinary townsfolk; others have special abilities (like the Tracker or the Gossip), and one—or more—are Werewolves trying to blend in while sowing distrust. The game thrives on voice interaction. There are no text prompts or menus to navigate mid-round—everything unfolds through conversation. You'll read voices, facial expressions (thanks to clever VR animation), and timing to parse friend from foe. The game is at its best with a full lobby of players (5–8 is ideal). Rounds move briskly, lasting about 10–15 minutes, with plenty of room for bluffing, accusations, and last-minute betrayals. The more you play, the better you get at not just spotting lies—but telling them. Like any great social deduction game, the meta evolves. You’ll start noticing patterns, tricks, and counterplays. Each session feels fresh thanks to randomized roles and varied player behavior. There's no single "winning strategy" here—reading the room is just as important as understanding the game mechanics. And it’s deeply satisfying when you successfully trick your way to a win or catch a Werewolf in a lie based on a subtle slip-up. The graphics aren’t cutting-edge, but they’re stylized and effective. The cozy-yet-creepy village setting, the ambient music, and the character animations all contribute to the game's eerie but playful tone. Despite being VR, it doesn’t rely on motion-heavy gameplay, making it accessible even for those prone to motion sickness. The character avatars are expressive and surprisingly readable for a VR game—lip-syncing and eye movement add just enough realism to support the bluffing gameplay. The game lives and dies by its community. Fortunately, Werewolves Within tends to attract a dedicated and often hilarious player base. That said, voice-only interaction can sometimes result in toxic or disruptive behavior, though most games are moderated by player votes. It's a rare example of a game that actually requires you to talk and listen. There's no hiding behind silence or mashing buttons—social interaction is the game. Werewolves Within is one of the most successful attempts to bring classic social deduction into VR. It’s funny, intense, and endlessly replayable when played with the right group. While the game could use more maps, cosmetic variety, or role expansions, its core gameplay loop is incredibly strong. If you enjoy games like Mafia, The Resistance, or Among Us, and you're looking for a more immersive twist—Werewolves Within is a must-play. Pros: -Excellent use of VR for social interaction -Clever role system with solid balance -High replayability with a good group -Hilarious and tense moments every match Cons: -Heavily reliant on player community -Limited content/customization -Can be frustrating with trolls or silent players “A unique and memorable VR party game that howls with potential.” Rating: 7/10
Overpriced game with no players, no updates, a bad lobby search system and requires an Ubisoft login. There is literally no reason to buy this game unless you have at least 5 other friends to join you. It should be made free.
Проблема с онлайном - устанешь ждать пока наберётся достаточное количество для игры.
Скажем "НЕТ" дискриминации игроков по национальным признакам или по признакам этнического происхождения! Скажем "НЕТ" использованию Steam в политических целях!
I’ve never been able to play
Like others have said, this is similar to Town of Salem. The game gets a lot of flack because at times it can be difficult to find a lobby. I mostly play on the weekends around 8:30PM (EST) and rarely have a problem getting a full lobby. The previous reviews are correct that the community is small and there's a good chance that you'll be in matches with the same people, but I have to contest the claims that the community is toxic. Have I met people who were toxic and not fun to play with? Sure. But the amount of people who genuinely enjoy this game and are fun to play with far outnumber them. Most people I meet are welcoming of newcomers because they understand the community is small and driving away new people won't make that better. While I personally would buy this game again at it's regular price of $19.99, I bought it on sale for $8, so if you're hesitant I would wait until it's on sale again. My best advice I can give about this game is this: 1: Utilize werewolflobbies.com , it will show you how many rooms are currently playing and with how many people, and WHO those people are, as well as how many games each individual person has played. 2: Don't take this game so seriously. There are a handful of people who take this game WAY too seriously, and you'll run into them. But 99% of the time they get kicked when they start going off the rails. This game as far as I know has no official leaderboards, and your victory is so dependent on other people there's no point in getting mad. Tell jokes, be intentionally deceptive, stir things up.
This was by far the BEST social VR game ever made. I played it on PSVR & PC. I spent TONS of hours playing with other people met some awesome people. This game needs to be revisited we need a new one or some type of DLC. I really hope the dev team reads this and thinks about doing something again. As of now this game is dead its a shame.....
Really miss this game! Used to be a lovely game on drinking nights or just to chill out. Played it back then when it got released on PSVR and always used to love it so much. Sadly the game died out and the developers in Ubisoft are not interested in updating it anymore. But sure if Ubisoft or another developer makes a game like this, and keeps it frequently updated it would do well! You can still find lobbies through Facebook groups but it's rare. So ++++++For the game. Big minus for letting it die out.
not working with my oculus q2 control, stuck at the intro buttons dont work
--- English lower --- C'est un jeu VR ? ------ ENGLISH --------- Is it a VR game? You are serious ???!!! It's not a VR game but it's a screen game that you put into VR nothing more! Again you would be a "small independent editor", but NOT you are Ubisoft !! It is shameful : - No hand detection - Players on Oculus cannot play (you have to buy an Xbox controller) just because their touch is not recognized ... - The sound is ROTTEN / Hatched and cuts all the time Seriously, it's a shame to make a "so-called VR" game that has no VR interactions, incompatibility with the leading headsets of the moment, and terrible sound while communication is the main thing in this game. . A simple update would be welcome because the principle of the game is very good and interesting. Some suggestions: - Improve the sound - Detect the hands so that we are free to move - Make your game work with Oculus! - Go further: add objects for interactions (beers, fruits, hammer, weapons, others ... just for fun) But given the number of updates on this game (none) I doubt it and therefore my comment will unfortunately be useless ...
