If you enjoyed Heart of the Forest, you will also like this one! If you’re new to the series, I recommend playing HotF first as it eases you into the lore a bit more gradually. There’s something special about Different Tales’ visual novels. Like this studio’s other work, Purgatory has an engaging story that grabbed me immediately, beautiful watercolor artwork and music, and the RPG mechanics are fun. But what really sticks is a certain atmospheric melancholy and lyricism. It’s a suspenseful werewolf story that also takes the time to lovingly describe things like a cozy coffee shop or intimate little conversations with strangers, but somehow never feels slow. I love how grounded in our real world and politics the narrative is. It made me really want to visit Poland. Thanks to the devs for another great experience. I hope they can put out more stories soon.

Moving story, moody visuals, liked it a lot. Great to get refugee perspective in narrative game.
I played as a Theurge and it was fun. More NPCs than I expected so you really do have to keep them all straight in your mind. The system is fun as always. Worth the $.
Like Heart of the Forest, I was hooked by the story and fully immersed to the point I was really affected by the choices I made at the beginning, perfectly translated by the state of mind of the main character (with the Harano level) which progresses throughout the story. Whereas in Heart of the Forest, connections were made with several characters, here there are fewer, but I find that it is totally in keeping with the story given the heavy past and refugee situation of the main character. Therefore, we have a much more main-character-centered perspective, with an internal struggle to progress despite her past affecting her. In any case, choices have an impact, and I think everyone can find something to relate to. Every situation can be resolved more or less subtly ( :werewolf_crinos: ), with the ensuing consequences. In fact, there are some very good action sequences in this one. There's also some replayability because there are two different timelines/stories depending on whether you choose to follow Aleksander or Pat, both quite different and equally interesting. Nevertheless, it remains a fairly short game/visual novel (even if it's longer than the previous one), and personally, I'm eagerly awaiting the next one (hoping they're planning one!).
An excellent experience all round, an immensely enojoyable and engaging system that develops off of the system the previous game made. All of the characters are indepth, the writing excells in emotion, and shows the ability and expanse The World of Darkness setting can offer. I highly reccomend!
Gioco basato sul gioco di ruolo Werewolf, molto bello e coinvolgente con poco. Consiglio assolutamente a chi è appassionato dell'ambientazione del World of Darkness.
Enfim, recomendo.
Really well written - not often I return to a game to make different choices when I have so many other games in my library that I want to finish but I've reinstalled this two or three times to explore the game more fully. I don't know that much about the P'n'P WoD Werewolf games compared to, say, VtM but this feels really solid in terms of the worldbuilding and the mechanics that are presumably lifted from the tabletop game.
Where can I find the soundtrack?
