This game is great, and I got super into the world and story. But I couldn't finish the game because the red door was bugged, I had already done the red door another attempt, but all future attempts were impossible for accessing the last item. So at it's current state I can't recommend it to others, until more stuff gets patched out. Especially game breaking bugs like that
By far one of the most immersive and scariest games I've ever played, and it didn't even need visuals to do it! The writing is like a modern day Alice In Wonderland, surreal and creepy, but whimsical. It's a world I want to get lost in. It took me nearly 52 hours to see everything this game had to offer, and I'm still sure I missed stuff. This game really is like an open world. Even without environments, the text is so well written that you can really visualise every unique location. Exploring is truly fun! My only gripe is that I wish the map was easier to log, since sometimes the Go Elsewhere's aren't clear exactly which direction you've moved, making it easy to mess up your map grid. I also wish there was a quicker way to replay scenes you've already seen. But other than that, a true masterpiece.
Unfortunately, Welcome!
to my review. We all go to the reviews. I'm yet to escape, and you will probably take awhile too. But there's so much to this weird, truely dream-like world that almost doesn't make you want to leave! I love this game for its frankly interesting, ambiguous main character. For its insanely creative world, and characters. For its simple-ish but in-depth at times creative puzzles that really make you feel rewarded for connecting the dots with. For the frankly fantastic sound design you hear throughout the game. And for being FREE?! LIKE WHAT! I honestly don't want to go further than that, cause I want YOU to play this game. It's freaking free man! (review may be edited if I escape The Dark Place.)
Very interesting game. Its a game where the world works as square, you however cannot see anything, save by some minor cutscenes. the game expects u to create a map irl of the squares that are the map of the game. 8/10
