Frigg has a lot to learn in the small town of Elk after life in the big city! An apprenticeship as a carpenter, a group of new, complicated friends, and a town predisposed to all kinds of difficult relationships. But they're going to find their way just like all the other off-beat immigrants to the island of Elk. It's how life is across the water.
And just as they have fun exploring all the little nooks and crannies of an old, storied island and its old, storied people, Frigg will face some tough decisions, some heartwrenching situations and a the kind of heartbreak that sits with you forever. Whether it's playing cards for candy, getting their feet wet at the beach or just sitting down to listen to a story well-told, Elk will be an adventure that Frigg will cherish for the rest of their days.
The stories in Welcome to Elk are told by the people who we know and/or were there when the events took place. All are told from memory. The way they are used both on our webpage and in the game is true to the core story but everything like names, locations and other details are changed, renamed and often re-framed to protect the real people behind them, therefore, we call them tall tales. The stories are not one-to-one like you would experience in true crime for example. They are rewritten and combined to one linear narrative. Characters may play a role in one story where they were not a part of it originally and only us who designed it will ever know – or come close to the real truth of the stories.

Ugly art style and boring gameplay. It tries to do a few things and fails at all of them. I get that this game is supposed to be deep and emotional but the minigames ruin it. "My wife sing, he's going to kill us" minigame is the epitome of this tone deafness. The only minigame that's enjoyable is the 10 limit minigame and that's probably because they took it from a popular card game. The emotional parts are dull because they're ruined by the "minigames" and the horrid art style. Again "My wife sing, he's going to kill us" minigame is the best example. I'm sorry (for myself) what do you mean this is how you're going to portray it? Not every story needs to be a game or interactive. I'd have preferred a VN to this. The artstyle is fugly. The areas are basic and servicable but humans are just horrid. I'm going to 100% this game and never play it again.

Welcome to Elk foi uma daquelas experiências que me pegou de um jeito que eu nem tava esperando. O jogo é simples na gameplay, mas nem de longe é sobre isso. O que realmente importa aqui são as histórias. Cada personagem que aparece traz algo real, pesado, às vezes até desconfortável… mas ao mesmo tempo muito humano. E o jeito que tudo é contado é diferente de tudo que eu já joguei. Parece que você não tá só jogando, tá ouvindo relatos de vida mesmo. Teve momentos que eu parei só pra absorver o que tinha acabado de acontecer. Algumas histórias ficam na cabeça depois que você fecha o jogo, e isso pra mim diz muito. A trilha sonora também merece muito destaque. Ela encaixa perfeitamente com cada momento, sabe? Tem partes que ela é suave e quase te abraça, e em outras ela só intensifica tudo que você tá sentindo. Foi uma das coisas que mais me marcou. No geral, é um jogo mais calmo, mais narrativo, então não é pra quem quer ação ou desafio. Mas se você gosta de histórias bem contadas, com emoção de verdade, esse jogo é especial. Pra mim, foi uma experiência linda e muito marcante. Nota: 10/10

A fun little story with cool ragdoll characters. Definitely leans into its Nordic weirdness. However, I have it set to just replay Elk Stack over and over again. Love in game card games like this! Are you listening devs? Maybe make it a separate game or something you can choose from the main menu? Maybe it is already and I'm missing something?

Welcome to Elk is one of those games that sticks with you long after the credits roll. I absolutely loved the story. There are so many twists and turns that caught me by surprise, but I won't say anything more because I truly believe experiencing them for yourself is a big part of what makes this game so special. Discovering the story firsthand is one of the reasons we play games. The art style is beautiful and gives the game so much personality. It perfectly complements the storytelling and creates an experience that's both memorable and heartfelt. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys story-driven adventures. I sincerely hope the developers continue bringing these wonderful stories to the screen because I'll gladly be there to experience whatever they create next.
Bueno me sorprendió. Es para completarlo en poco tiempo (incluido los logros), es perfecto en su formato audiovisual. Lo que si es más para un público adulto, y no para que se lo compren a un menor esperando que disfruten con coloridos personajes. Tiene mucho contenido que puede resultar incomodo considerando lo que abarca y en lo que te deja pensando por las historias reales.- Desde lo que es el alcoholismo, violencia, etc. No es gráfico, pero agradezco que haya existido el botón de [spoiler]negarse a sacrificar a palos a un conejo jaja[/spoiler]. Considerado. AH! Interesante el juego y vean de que trata todas las historias en común.
Les dialogues sont interminables, les personnages ne sont pas du tout attachants et l'histoire est carrément assommante. Le jeu comporte de bonnes idées, notamment mélanger les médias et construire la narration autour d'histoires vraies. Mais là ça ne fonctionne pas du tout, on est seulement spectateur et tout est répétitif et lent. Les animations et la musique rendent le jeu encore moins séduisant.
