Why do I keep choosing games that star lesbians? Anyway, you probably got this in a humble bundle a while ago and are deciding if you should play it or not, in that situation I think it's worth one playthrough at least, though full completion is a bit much cause theres basically no QOL regarding stuff you've already seen. At full price? Absolutely not.
Short but deep game. Kinda hits you in the feels.
A very short game where you can try to save your character's relationship with their girlfriend, Sam... or destroy it. The way you select dialogue by changing certain words or phrases is very unique; it's interesting to see how the responses vary when you change but one part of the sentence. The music is very much cool indie songs you'd hear at a bar, and the artstyle is cute!! The characters are pretty intriguing, with them acting differently or revealing bits of lore about themselves when you select different responses. It is a pretty short game that has good replayability, but it can get dragging to try to get all 9 endings with no skip button or way to fast-forward the audio. The way the epiloque is presented is pretty fun with the funky text and cinematic shots of the models. NGL, I went in with no expectations so I flirted with Steph, then saw that Sam was OUR GIRLFRIEND then immediately restarted. Got the 9 happy ending on the first try baybee <3
This is a really interesting type of create-your-own story game, I found it very compelling, and I think the cause and effect of specific things you say creates a realistic atmosphere. My only issue is that it was only interesting to me for a few runs, and it can feel like your dredging through conversation after a certain point. I like how there are so many endings, but it is brutal to try and get all of them. Overall, it's an experience that really made me think about how I talk to people, and for a few bucks I think it is worth it :)
This is a "difficult conversation" simulator that takes place between you and your girlfriend while you're at a bar and she's at home. This review is after playing through to what I assume was the good ending; there are eight others, and I'm really not interested in exploring them. The good: I think most of us have had to deal with relationships issues via texting, so that's relatable. Word switching gameplay is kind of interesting. A playthrough is refreshingly short. The meh: The situation you get put in is just not fun. A) Your current clingy girlfriend is texting you incessantly. B) She has made you dinner, but you for some reason aren't there to eat it. C) There are two guys who hit on you, and you either have to humor or deflect them. That's literally the game. So if you play the game thoughtfully and sensitively, you have a serious conversation via text with your girlfriend and stay loyal. But that's only one of nine endings. Do I really want to figure out how to be more insensitive, more dishonest or sluttier to get the other 8 endings? Some people might, but I certainly don't want to be unpleasant and immoral just to see what happens in a game. The verdict: I think the mechanics of the game are decent, and I see how this could be good for use in a college class or counselling session. And turn this into a serious dating sim or other flavor of visual novel, and I'd be all in. But the situation this game puts you in is just too unpleasant. I shouldn't have to be 8 flavors of cheating b*tch just to 100% the game...
This... was so boring.
