From the independent studio that brought you Contrast, We Happy Few is an action/adventure game set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England. Hide, fight and conform your way out of this delusional, Joy-obsessed world.

Reviews
Happiness is a choice!
-and with a rando mode too??? Almost too giving!
Banger If I were ram dass or Sasha shulgin I'd love this game even more
I first came along this game by watching someone else play it back around 2019ish? They never ended up finishing it, so I was never able to find out the rest of the story until I decided to buy it for myself and play a few years back and I've gotta say, it is by far one of the best story games I've ever played!! The concept is original and so very intriguing, I could play this game over and over and never get bored. As someone who doesn't prefer fighting in games, We Happy Few gives you options to play on easy mode, so you can play it normal if you like fighting or adjust your settings to easy for everything so you can focus only on the storyline; if you want a challenge, they also present a hard mode. We Happy Few is set in an open world which I love, there's so many different places to go and explore and a lot of side quests to complete to unlock skill points which you use to upgrade your skills on whatever character you're playing at that time. You have 3 character options you can pick to play, I would advise starting with Arthur since the storyline just makes more sense when you start his story first. The game can be a bit buggy at times but as long as you remember to save your progress, it's simple to just restart the game and go to your last save if the bug causes that much of a problem for you. Personally, I think the story overrides all the negative parts that could come along. The graphics and music are also pretty nice; it's the kind of game that will give you nostalgia once you finish playing it the first time. You'll definitely want to come back for more once a year or two has passed, and remember how much fun you had the first time playing it. I still wish I could find a different game similar to it, but unfortunately can't find anything like it. 1000000/10
you can hit old ladies with frying pans 👍 Great game
this is a game that places aesthetics and concept WAYYYYY above things like performance, enjoyment, storytelling and mechanics. i find a solid 70% of my gametime is spent running from place to place. it would be less of an issue if the world was interesting and created with intention, but its extremely visible it is randomly generated and its very immersion-breaking that the layout makes absolutely no sense. the game being 60 euros is genuinely outrageous. you do not get 60 euros worth of game. great idea, unfortunately kind of terrible execution. a total of 4 face models for ALL npcs, nonsense npc dialogue, game breaking bugs even 6 years in, and a randomly generated map makes this game feel so hollow and fake. it doesnt feel like a group of people trying to create art or even a good game, but a computers output after telling it to make something with a specific aesthetic.
Great game!
love love love love it
