From the independent studio that brought you Contrast, We Happy Few is an action/adventure game set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England. Hide, fight and conform your way out of this delusional, Joy-obsessed world.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Feels like everyone nags about a few bugs like it is game breaking but the story and style is where this game shines, i never felt any big frustrations at any bug, and this has been one of the greatest games i've played in a long while, strongly recommend.
I tried to give the game multiple chances because I loved the premis of the game so much. But the gameplay is just not something I enjoy. The reach of the opponents is crazy. Even if you stagger back and can't reach them with a hit, they can still knock you out. The map is very unfortunate and not helpful. The quests are confusing and the description does not match what you have to do. All in all: Great idea but after three tries I just gave up on the game.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 12: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Completed it on Xbox Game Pass and bought it on Steam just to tell how brilliant the game is. If you like the setting and the premise, you value good dialogues and scenario, go for it. The open-world, survival, crafting aspects are definitely secondary and somewhat lackluster but it's not what makes this game great, just ignore them and enjoy the rest.
The best worst game ever made. The story, world building and atmosphere are all perfect. Its dark, mysterious and nothing is what it seems. The gameplay experience is where it falls apart. Theres crafting and survival elements, but they seem like an afterthought and are pretty underwhelming. The stealth is ok, but the melee combat isnt. The DLCs are a lot better than the base game, but you need to play the base game to understand them better. Also the game doesnt run very well. Graphically, its about on par with subnautica, but doesnt run nearly as smooth. The $60 price tag is a joke, but on sale its worth a playthrough for the story alone.
Spoilers. We Happy Few has a talented team and It's evident in the love that was put into this game but sadly there was no care into it, too much love crammed and thrown in it. The whole game is a series of fetch quests and a game that was supposed to be social stealth but it has RPG elements inside it and the game forces itself to be a walking simulator. Every main quest and side quest has you traveling all over the map to either kill or steal, some were interesting but hearing that every main quest starts with "Travel to this far area" only to "Sorry I cannot, travel to this different area and help me" and repeat. There wasn't a single quest that went from A to B, it was always A to B to A to B to C. It's so frustrating. The amount of jank and bugs I encountered was insane, quests that never started, quests that didn't finish, soft locking, enemies falling through the floor, doing takedowns only to see the enemy being in T pose, invisible walls in the middle of the street, the map being randomly generated meant that every street was uneven, didn't lock itself well with other roads, garbage cans in front of benches rendering them useless, houses being generated randomly leaving gaps between them, wall signs in the back of the building so no one sees them.. but it's there! God. Arthur's story was.... interesting, I never learned why he left Percy to leave for Germany and lied, he was always caring and helped him and switched at the last second which was weird, I get that he was a kid but no kid would do that unless they are heartless and his relationship with Sally was so underdeveloped I forgot they knew each other and his last section was so short I could barely explore and immerse myself in the "big city" life. Sally is probably the worst character ever written for this game, she's the only woman in the cast and her only goal is her child, I barely know anything about her other that she's sly and lies, the rest of it is her being a mom. Don't you love when women are only known and explored as mothers? Let me tell ya, they aren't just machines who print babies. Her mechanic of feeling "guilty" that she lets her child alone is so dumb and stupid. Like wdym you're forcing dolls into my inventory, making me carry invisible weight, making me slow as hell and having to discard my items that I fought to hard to steal and procure (giving that she sucks at fighting and pretty much everything and no, she's not better at stealth than Arthur, the game is janky, the stealth barely works as a mechanic) because she feels "guilty". It's the worst mechanic I ever saw in a game. Her first quest made me pull my hair out, they made me travel far away from home to steal something, I had to SLOWLY walk home until I could fast travel (because, even though you have a shelter in the Garden District, it's completely closed for some reason and they WON'T let you fast travel around it because why not), only for the exactly next quest to send me in the Garden District AGAIN but now farther away. I closed the game and uninstalled, sorry, I value my time and most of all my fun. Ollie was uninteresting as a character and never got to play his part but I'm sure he has the mechanic of "be drunk 24/7 and if not, we are gonna place rocks in your inventory so you will be a snail and you have to discard your entire inventory on the floor" In conclusion, be better and don't throw 30 ideas in a game, it's never a good idea and for the love of god, as a dev, if you play your game in this state and say "it's good" I wish you the same fate that befell on Nicolae Ceausescu on the 25th of December, 1989

Even though this game has its many flaws, it is still by far one of the best games I have ever played in my life. It is beautiful in so many ways. The soundtrack is mesmerizing. The environment is stunning, both in the Parade and Garden District. The story is incredible. The characters are memorable. The only thing holding it back was the gameplay itself and its many bugs.
