Y ENCIMA GRATIS! Mi enhorabuena al equipo <3
gud game
It's free and decent. Shut up and play it.
Kinda janky but free really good concept but some not ideal execution
good
Excellent puzzle platformer revolving around throwing spears with different powers (pretty novel concept - for me at least). Well made and numerous puzzles that use the powers of the spears well. There are some challenging - in a good way - platforming moments throughout, especially if you're trying to collect all the collectible coins in the levels. The art style is simple and fitting. The story is....there. Not at all the focal point, it provides an adequate setting to play though the levels. A little caveat for the casual player: some special levels (bosses & bonus levels) present long stretches of gameplay wih no saves and usually ramping difficulty, which can get a little frustrating if you're having trouble with a bit near the end and have to redo the start of the level constantly just to give the troublesome passage another shot. All in all, I wasn't expecting such a long and well polished game, given that it's free. I heartily recommend it to the puzzle platformer fan. FYI for the achievement hunters: One of the achievements is bugged (at the date of review at least): after collecting all the coins in the levels, the counter is broken and the corresponding achievement is not given. Also, good luck with the dark souls achievement (no dying in one playthrough), it seems all but impossible to me.
Way to Yaatra is a fun little game that reminds me of playing indie games on Newgrounds, but with a bit more finesse. I loved the culture and story, and the gameplay was challenging but fun. However, I did not have fun in the optional levels. The first one was fine. I may have died fifty times, but I completed it and had an amazing experience learning from my mistakes. Then I noticed it unlocked a small shortcut. However, afterwards completing the other levels didn't give me anything. Why would anyone go for risk without a reward? There's no incentive. However, it's fortunate that these levels aren't in the main path. If they were, I would be furious and leave a bad review. I will admit that they are a good test of skill. As many gamers refer to hard moments in games, I would say the challenge levels are the Dark Souls of Way to Yaatra. Like Dark Souls, you get beat up at first, learn from your mistakes twenty times over, and then complete the challenge. It's a bit hard and bewildering at first to go into a level with only silhouettes, but it also ties into memories of Donkey Kong Country Returns. In conclusion, Way to Yaatra blends deep ties to a culture that's heavily foreign to most players with challenging but rewarding gameplay. Thank you for this experience, Way to Yaatra Company.
Cool game, interesting puzzle platformer mechanic, the menu is ugly but the artstyle is cool. it reminds me a game called Shu
