Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 15.43/day in the week to Sep 8 → 20/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, GOG, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.
Updates
Build ids and update times come straight from Steam's PICS — the same source SteamDB reads. Patch history grows as we record new builds.

Wartales — Build Your Company, Survive the Road, Write Your Own Story
Wartales is one of those games where I started out thinking I was going to manage a small group of mercenaries. Then somehow I had a growing company of fighters, animals, prisoners, equipment, professions, wages to pay, mouths to feed, and a camp that felt like a traveling medieval village. And I loved it. If you enjoy turn-based tactical combat, exploration, party management, character progression, crafting, and building your own mercenary company, Wartales has a lot to offer.

This Isn't About Saving the World
One of my favorite things about Wartales is that you aren't immediately the legendary hero destined to defeat some ancient evil. You're running a mercenary company. You travel from region to region taking contracts, making money, finding equipment, recruiting companions and trying to keep everyone alive, fed and paid. Your company becomes the story. Over time you remember individual companions, the battles they've survived, and how they've grown from new recruits into veterans.

The Tactical Combat Is Excellent
Combat is turn-based, tactical and one of the strongest parts of the game. Positioning matters. Armor matters. Movement matters. Skills matter. Who engages which enemy matters. As your company grows, battles become bigger and your options expand. You can build companions into different roles, equip them for specific jobs and create combinations between members of the company. A good battle feels like you're commanding an actual mercenary company rather than controlling one hero with backup characters. When you've invested hours into a companion and watched them survive battle after battle, keeping them alive becomes a lot more important. Nobody touches my levelled-up swordsman.

Building Your Company Is Half the Game
Your mercenaries aren't just combat units. They can take on professions that contribute to the company outside battle, giving companions another purpose and progression path. Who is your blacksmith? Who handles cooking? Who is crafting? Do you have enough food? Can you afford everybody's wages? Every new recruit makes your company stronger while creating another mouth to feed and another person to equip. Growing too quickly can become its own problem.

Your Camp Becomes Home
I really enjoy the camp system. At the end of the day, your company sets up camp, and over time that camp grows alongside your crew. Crafting stations, supplies, food, companions and animals all become part of this traveling headquarters. Eventually you aren't looking at a few mercenaries sitting around a campfire. You've built a mobile community. Then morning comes, everybody packs up, and it's back onto the road looking for another contract. Hopefully one that pays enough to cover the ridiculous amount of food everyone keeps eating.

Explore, Fight, Trade, Craft, Hunt
Wartales gives you plenty to do when you're not fighting. You can explore towns and wilderness, discover locations, gather resources, trade goods, craft equipment, hunt, complete contracts and investigate what's happening throughout each region. Different areas have their own problems and stories, and traveling into a new region feels like another chapter in your company's journey. "We're going to town to sell some equipment." Two hours later... "Why are we fighting these people in the middle of nowhere?" That's Wartales.

Not Everyone Has to Join Willingly
Enemies can be captured and taken prisoner, opening another side of company management. You can end up traveling around with mercenaries, animals and prisoners while trying to manage the increasingly ridiculous caravan you've created. Your little group of adventurers doesn't stay little for long.

Animals Can Become Part of the Company Too
Animals are another fun part of Wartales. They can become part of the company and join you in combat, giving you even more options when building your crew. Once you've had an animal survive alongside your mercenaries through enough battles... That's not an animal anymore. That's a member of the company. Protect them accordingly.

Multiplayer Makes It Even Better
Wartales is great solo, but being able to play cooperatively with friends adds another dimension. You can share the adventure, build the company together and head into battles with different players controlling members of the crew. There's something especially entertaining about making tactical plans with friends... ...and watching the entire plan collapse immediately after combat starts. But somehow you survive, collect the loot and head back to camp together.

The Best Part Is the Stories You Create
Some of the best stories aren't scripted. They're the things that happen to your company. The recruit who became one of your strongest fighters. The battle you barely survived. The companion you thought was dead for sure. The animal that somehow survives everything. The contract that looked easy and absolutely wasn't. The trip back to town when you're low on food, injured and hoping you have enough money to pay everybody. Those experiences make the company feel like your own story.

Highly Recommended
If you like games where you can build a party, specialize characters, manage equipment, explore, craft, trade, fight tactical battles and turn a handful of nobodies into a hardened mercenary company, Wartales is absolutely worth checking out. Build your crew. Choose their professions. Equip them. Feed them. Pay them. Explore. Take contracts. Fight. Craft. Trade. Capture enemies. Bring some animals along. And try to get everybody home alive. Wartales gives you the tools to build your own mercenary company and lets the journey become the story. Because nothing says "successful mercenary company" like surviving the battle only to realize payday is tomorrow and you spent all the money on new armor.
Big fan of this game so far. I like the "crafting" mechanics and the combat. Very cool that you can capture wild animals to join your band. Combat skills and overall progression are well paced.
