I've tried WARMA during August 2018, for a short time. I was able to take a general look and build an opinion about it though. It is possible I'll get this game again some time, as long as it keeps evolving.
I don't usually make reviews after playing a game for a short time, but I don't feel motivated to keep playing WARMA right now. If you're interested in it, give it some time to become more developed, or just buy it to support it.
WARMA is a roleplaying game with PvP, where you possibly choose which route to take with your life, without messing up too much or you may be in trouble with the authorities. Or just kill everyone!
Even though it has a good concept, of "living on your own, get some kind of job to collect money and buy yourself better stuff", I have to say:
[*] It feels like it's an Arma III Altis Life mod or a GTA rp ripoff. Maybe some similar ideas make people think about these.
[*] The game looks kind of empty right now. Maybe the interaction with other players or getting a vehicle will make it less boring for you?
[*] The map looks unfinished. Few elements in it. You'll find a couple of enterable and non-enterable buildings, I don't care if they're from the Unity Asset Store, some games with assets from there can still be good, but Warma needs more than just having a couple of buildings in the map. More life into it. The houses don't have anything like furniture and such, at least at this moment I'm doing this review.
[*] It is not fully translated yet. Some words are still in russian, which non-russian speakers may have, or not, issues to understand what they mean, unless they're over confirmation buttons and such.
[*] Very small player base at the moment.
[*] I've roll down a hill that wasn't too steep, my character turned into a buggy ragdoll like it was the goat in Goat Simulator, it's hilarious, but I've lost my pistol that way.
[*] The character's mechanics need a LOT of work.
[*] The game in ultra settings still looks unnatractive.
[*] It was a pain to finally be able to put it at a 1080 x 1920 resolution, only the lower resolutions were appearing in the game settings, I had to insist with the arrows for a while until a higher resolution appeared.
[*] You'll have to repeat tasks in your jobs without getting fired to get, in a *honest* way, some money. Leave it in your pocket or transfer it to your account in an ATM. Have fun carrying bricks to that 5th floor :). That bunny mask looks cool, but you got to work to earn it ;).
[*] Interaction points will allow you to, depending of which one you're using, buy new items like food, clothes, new hairstyles, you have to pay to shave that hobo beard.
Summing up:
Still in Early Access, not sure how far this game will go. With a concept that appears to be attractive to players, a lot of work still needs to be done. Several bugs, boring map with a couple of buildings, roads and trees, I cannot recommend it at the moment, but I hope the development of this game goes far some time, so I can consider buying it again.
I cannot recommend this game right now in its current state.
I sold all my clothes, ran around the city in underwear and got killed by a cop just for staring at his friend's car :D.
