About

War Room provides a productive workspace where learning turns into tangible results. This software was built to be a framework for creators, educators, and history enthusiasts who want to invest their time in something meaningful. By mastering this tool, you gain the power to educate audiences worldwide and build a valuable skill set. In fact, this is the exact software used to power the production of our official YouTube channel, Lado B da História—which has surpassed 172,000 subscribers and 17 million views with some of the most detailed World War II documentaries available. If your goal is to create high-quality historical content, educate people, and successfully monetize your work, dedicating time to learn this sandbox is the ultimate return on investment.
War Room is an educational sandbox designed to unlock your creativity and bring historical events to life. This is a tool built specifically for historical study, storytelling, and content creation. If you want to visualize battles, explain tactical movements, or simply experiment with "what-if" historical scenarios, War Room gives you the freedom to build it all from scratch.
The software is built upon two intuitive modes:
Simulation Mode: A flexible planning sandbox where your creativity is the only limit. Draw routes, place units from different eras, adjust positions, and control time itself to map out any historical event exactly how you visualize it.
Battle Mode: Watch your scenarios come alive. Battle against AI to see how units interact on the map based on your custom layouts, creating perfect visuals for educational purposes or storytelling.
Whether you are a teacher looking to illustrate a lesson, a content creator aiming to produce clear historical visuals, or a history enthusiast wanting to express your creative power, War Room is your interactive canvas.
🌍 Terrain Generator: Create terrains from scratch with our generator, adjusting biomes, sea levels, and relief to build the perfect strategic landscape.
📦 Expandability: Experience the freedom of going beyond official content. War Room allows you to import custom maps and personal assets, ensuring that any specific unit or historical scenario can be brought to life within your simulation.
⚔️ AI Battle Mode: Issue direct orders or simply watch the chaos unfold. A basic AI system processes tactical stances (Offensive, Defensive, Retreat), morale systems, panic, and balance of power in real-time.
✏️ Precision: Draw complex routes, set arrival times, program synchronized detonations, and use map markers to orchestrate military maneuvers.
🎥 Built for Creators: Featuring a retractable UI, recording indicators, and a "Cinema Mode," War Room is the necessary tool for those producing documentaries, history videos, or tactical analyses.
Is War Room a conventional Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game?
No. War Room is fundamentally an educational sandbox tool and a creative workspace. It does not feature scripted campaigns, base building, tech trees, or resource gathering. It is a software designed for those who want to "set the stage," explore historical events, and express their creativity.
Does the simulator support any type of unit and map?
You can import any PNG file to be a unit (soldiers, ships, tanks) and any image as a map.
Who is the ideal user for War Room?
Military enthusiasts, Kriegsspiel players, Historians wanting to visualize battles and YouTube content creators.
In War Room, you can use the scrubbing system to rewind the action, correct positioning errors, and re-watch the entire scene again.

Reviews
Do not spend your money on this developer

The Developer is personally attacking people
You can see his comments in this review and on the forums. He is absolutely crashing-out on Steam. Insane! (He has since deleted all of his comments in this review)
War Room is total AI SLOP
The entire game appears to be made by AI and it looks like total AI slop. The red flags are all there. The developer cannot even generate a single response without using AI to formulate - it is so very weird.
The developer changed his marketing at launch
Initial Game Description:
War Room: Tactical Sandbox - War Room is a tactical simulator and sandbox editor that transforms historical maps into living battlefields. Create, edit, and command epic confrontations from Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Modern Era, and beyond.
This is NOT the game that was delivered. The developer has, AFTER LAUNCH, changed the description to a highly passive-aggressive tone to describe the game as
a professional sandbox editor
But he also claims that it's able to
Transform historical maps into living battlefields to analyze and simulate tactical confrontations.
I understand what the this software is meant to be but I still don't think the developer understands the word "simulate" because War Room is absolutely not a simulation of anything except a tool used to make animations. I would honestly describe War Room as software for people that don't want to learn animation in DaVinci Resolve or PowerPoint. If you're looking for a tool to help you make tactical videos where you can animate units along a path then this is for you. Anything beyond that is expecting too much from this....software. The developer is adamant that this is not a game, yet it includes a Battle Mode allow units to engage in combat. I'm not sure if the Battle Mode was the initial vision that the developer had but fell short or maybe it was an afterthought. But the result is a Battle Mode that is a poor abstraction of combat where units do not recognize terrain or even engage in any coherent form of combat. Units simply bump into each other without any visible feedback or audio cues. In fact, there are NO audio SFX in the game at all. It's like a muted game. I'm not sure who the audience is for War Room but it's not me.
Can not recommend it at the stage it is in. * UI is very confusing. * Tutorial is not a tutorial, more of a glossary. * Battleships sailing over submarines makes them flip out. * Enemy AI does not know actual tactics, only human wave attacks * Many of the units shown in the scenarios are seemingly impossible (or too difficult) to find in the assets tab. * The units I placed down in the scenario editor refused to fire on each other. * Pathfinding is very strange. Enemies will latch onto you like a magnet, with no way to escape or make space, which means no retreats or withdrawals. I hope within time things will turn around, so I can turn this from a negative into a positive.
I'm sure it'll get better, but the UI is terrible. I thought I clicked on the tutorial button and expected at least a quick run down on what each button does, go through a quick scenario for you to get a feel for how making a map works. I got a glossary and the message that says don't like, please refund. That's... That's a message for a tutorial, alright...
This is NOT a strategy game, it is designed to create visual simulations of battles. All these negative reviews are basically unwarranted, as it does what it is designed for very well.
I just can't recommend the program in it's current state. To be clear, this isn't meant to be a game, I've noticed this seems to a common complaint in the reviews, I've also seen the developers seem to use this relatively frivolous complaint to disregard other criticism of the program. Firstly, the program seems to lack fairly basic functionality. Keyframing or queueing actions either just doesn't exist, or is very well hidden, since I didn't seem to find anything of the sort in the menus or the tutorial. Even more basic controls like the damage that units output also seem completely missing. It feels like the whole program was made with just enough functionality to make the trailer shots and not much else. The UI is abysmal, it's difficult to navigate, unpleasant to look at, and is general just lacking. The whole program just lacks depth or the ability to simulate anything complex. In general, I find the entire software very lacking for a 'professional sandbox editor', and I find the tone the developers take with any critics to be very egoistical. This tool wasn't worth the price at $20 on launch, and I have a hard time saying it's worth the current $10 it's currently going for. With all that said, the program is still in early access, and I do hope that it eventually lives up to the standards the developers have set for it, because from what I can see currently, it doesn't, and I'll probably stick to other software for the purposes this program was meant to be specialized for.
I initially bought this to streamline and save time for animation and visuals when I create educational content regarding war or for world-building in battles in my personal project. However, attempting to use the software was incredibly confusing and frustrating. - It's incredibly confusing to use; the guide is more like a summary of the controls and doesn't really give any guidance on how to use units or create units. - The guide is also difficult to read on smaller screens. Furthermore, most of the controls use key binds that cannot be configured instead of buttons. Preferably, both keybinds and buttons would be the optimal layout; unfortunately, most of the controls use keybinds. - It requires a lot of setting up. Most of the presets that come with the software are horrible; in fact, it does not even include a world map or a comprehensive list of units in NATO symbology. Although this isn't really a valid complaint, it's a heads up for people who plan to immediately try making content with it. - There are simply better alternatives. If you plan on making educational content software like Adobe Photoshop or Krita, a free alternative exists. Paired with editing software like Davinci Resolve or whatever software you use. - The UI is incredibly confusing and frustrating to navigate. - The simulation mode is also bad; most of the units bug out in many ways and usually do not work properly. In conclusion, I would say that it's a pretty mediocre tool for making educational content. However, I can see this software definitely becoming better and possibly even better than other software if the devs optimize it and dedicate time to making it better in general. If it eventually does improve I might come back to check on it and update my review, but in the meantime I recommend you just develop your skills in animation and video editing instead of buying this.
This game has undisclosed AI usage. However, I have been looking for some game with a free map making tool for awhile now. It didn't really matter if I got to "play" the battles. However, units just mash against each other no matter the scale and for the map I was playing, that mattered a lot since there should've been range to engage targets. There's also no way to turn off the audio, at all. Meaning you're stuck with the battle music and the start music. The UI is practically unreadable on the settings the game starts at, you need to navigate a busy and cluttered UI to find the options to turn off the CRT and Bloom effects, which meant I had to squint and lean close to the monitor to tell what words were what. Overall, without major adjustments (which, from looking at the starting screen which begs the user to return the product if it does not live up to what the user wanted, I don't think is going to happen) this game is pretty bad.
