Really liked the first game but this remake is such a departure from the puzzle genre to a half baked action adventure. This game has so many fundamental flaws that it makes it a chore to play in VR. I really wanted to beat this game to see what is different from the original but after non-stop weird ♥♥♥♥ from the NPCs and weird ♥♥♥♥ in general, i couldn't go on. ♥♥♥♥ this game, its unredeemable. No update can fix it, they'd need to start over again... again. Play the first one, its much better.
My hands are tied on this one. I loved the ambitious concept, production values, performance and unique adventure gameplay of Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate. But when it's also the glitchiest game I've ever played, this thumbs down is well deserved. I wrote many notes about this game, but I have no desire to convert them into a detailed review. Now that we all can see that the developer has abandoned this bugfest of a game in an unacceptable state, I'm going to keep this simple. Here is a list of major glitches I encountered, up to and including game-breaking scenarios of soft lock and hard lock.
Definitions
SOFT LOCK: Glitches that prevent immediate progression, such as getting stuck. Reloading the last autosave can usually fix it. HARD LOCK: Long-term progression-blocking glitches with effects so severe that the state of the playthrough is PERMANENTLY invalidated. Completing the game is impossible. Only way to restore the playthrough is to load a previous save from before the blocking glitch and try again.
Partial list of major glitches I experienced

SEVERE GLITCH: Grabbing anything caused my character to be launched in random directions, sending me into the kill volume. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoalRe5p4tE
SOFTLOCK: Similar to the grab launch glitch, but getting one of my hands stuck in geometry. Collision makes it impossible to remove my hand or use my watch.
SEVERE GLITCH: Both the inventory and objective modes of the watch active at once.
EXPLOITABLE GLITCH: Respawning blue fragment pieces in Von Braun's manor, providing unlimited fragments for upgrades.
HARDLOCK: Soviet Attack, 1) Die repeatedly, the scenario glitches and soldiers wander outside of view/range. Can't complete it and can't fail. Time traveling away and back doesn't fix it. Stuck in limbo and have to load a save.
SOFT/HARDLOCK: Soviet Attack, 2) Fall off balcony, can still time travel at will, but there's no way to get back up. Normally, you'll fail the scenario and it will restart, placing you on the balcony again. But game progression is permanently ruined if combined with being stuck in limbo from 1)
SOFTLOCK: Self-activating grenade in the weapon room after time traveling back to the hideout. Infinite loop of instant grenade activation killing me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAjvhjoz2hA
SOFTLOCK: Completed drumming minigame practice song, but the game didn't acknowledge my progress. Couldn't get out of drumming minigame and couldn't teleport out. My hands were locked to drumsticks and I couldn't grab any artifacts of power.
HARDLOCK: Scenario for approaching the V2 rocket broke. Noticed that the watch's dialogue wasn't playing anymore. Rocket did not launch after completing all steps. Impossible to complete the game. Luckily I could reload a manual save from 90 minutes earlier, and did not have my entire playthrough ruined.
Despite the things I really liked about Wanderer, which are why I fought through all of this (and more!) to finish the game, I will warn against buying or playing this game.
Not even close to being as good as the original. I tried the Demo when it came out. Was disappointing. Movements/interactions really bad. This game, no different. Bad Bring back the original developers. Some of your devs must be from EA.
all this game is, is a rehash of a 4 year old game. they added very little for what it is, and they are asking WAY too much.
Soft Locked after numerous bugs throughout gameplay! I bought this as I loved the original and wanted to see the better graphics and extended story and puzzles. Yes its way buggier than the original. The bugs can be annoying, but I just put up with it as its an enjoyable VR game and I want to support any good VR games that wants to forward the community. Only problem is I'm now soft-locked out of progressing any further. A game-breaking bug during the Tikal Spinning Puzzle (also known as the Mayan Sun Dial or the "Frog Puzzle"). This seems to be a known issue that obviously hasnt been patched/fixed. The Issue: 90-Degree Ring Desync The bug typically manifests after licking the frog to reveal the puzzle. Players report that: The rings become permanently desynced with a 90-degree offset. Two rings may become "linked" in a way that makes it mathematically impossible to align them. The game fails to recognise the correct solution even when manually aligned. Standard save/load cycles do not fix the state, as the error is baked into the active save file. I'm pretty upset about this. I'm fairly far into the game and don't want to start from the beginning again with no guarentee it wont happen again. I have tried rolling back to previous save points with no luck at all and my current save point is even crashing the game if I continue from the title screen. This is no acceptable and is way worst than the original. Yes I can put up with the huge amount of physics jank and endless bugs, but game breaking bugs end your play with no way forward and no guarentee that a complete game restart with endless hours of rework it might all still happen again. Devs please FIX THIS!!!!!
Buggy mess. If they fix the bugs so I can actually play the game, I'll consider changing this review. Current issues: - Swinging from ropes while seated is just not happening, period. - Interactions with items is weird. IE, I put a baseball bat in my backpack, over my shoulder. When I go to retrieve the bat, it's grabbing it by the middle. Why? Why not by the handle? If I'm grabbing a weapon, I'd think it would grab it by the handle. - Interacting with items is off. I picked up a flare gun, opened it to load, and couldn't interact with it to close it. I had to "flick" my wrist, holding the gun, to close. Thing is, my free hand TRIED to interact with it; like, there was collision - but it didn't interact enough to close the flip-top of the gun. - Swimming was the death knell. I dont want to move my arms to swim because I'm seated and going to whack my elbows on my chair repeatedly if I'm making swimming motions. There is a stick-only option that I enabled in options menu. Stick will move me forward and backward, left and right (left stick) but right stick does absolutely nothing, whether stationary or moving, unless I physically press down on the stick (crouch) in which case it just drops me deeper into the water. Only way to "swim up" is to "swim against" a physical object, like stairs going up. This is literally game breaking because I just drown over and over again. The game's got promise but it's incredibly unpolished. For this price, I expect a finished product. This game is clearly still in Beta. Unfortunately, I bought it as part of the Steam sale, and now it's been too long so I can't refund it. Again, if the devs fix the bugs, I'll consider playing it again.
Honestly I don't understand why so many people are hating on this game so badly. I wouldn't say this game was life changing or anything but it was fun and while I did encounter a few bugs if you've ever played a Bethasda game you'll be okay

Love the game. Played through the original Wanderer and it was great, and this game expands on that one and has a lot of improvements. Can't recommend though. Too many bugs. Each time I encountered a bug that seemingly prevented me from progressing I was able to find a workaround, until I was trying to place a sacred book on a pedestel. Every time I tried to grab it from my backpack, my right arm would be yeeted away from me, sometimes dragging me into the nearest wall and killing me, sometimes just disappearing forever. Executing a spacetime jump (which you have to do constantly) had a chance to crash the game, starting at about 0% at the beginning but over time that number climbed to about 90%. After about 30 crashes over about 5 playing sessions I have given up and uninstalled the game.
