Looking for squirrels games! Couldn't have enough of The Sacred Acorn, Squirreled Away, Leafing Home, Ice Age 2 and some more, so I've been curious about smaller games too. And this one was pretty nice. Good nuts: - Casual, relaxing gameplay with a small bit of fights - Gliding is very convenient and easy to learn, great controls - Some funny NPC and dialogues - One of the easiest 100%, and still pretty enjoyable collect-a-bit Not very good nuts: - Very short, only 2 hours to 100% everything - Nuts and golden peanuts don't give you anything but the achievement - No rare or challenging achievements - The ending is disappointing Overall, it's a surprisingly nice game, short but entertaining, nothing more to demand for its low price. I played a few small squirrel games already, and almost all of them are a disappointment, but this one shows that small games can be better than I expect. Please let me know if there are more good squirrel games out there!
I followed the developer and really happy he finished his game! That being said, this could've used more polish and tweaking in multiple areas. Pros: * Nice wholesome world that is easy to explore. * Mechanics that I feel are unique with flying. * Simple objective for the game's main character. * Trophies were easy to achieve just by playing the game. Cons: * NPCs are irrelevant and lifeless. The dialogue isn't more than a Hi/Hello/HowAreYou/Goodbye. And the minions/bosses are random. They appear on different islands attacking, we can help and destroy them or just walk past the minions so it's not really worth it. * Gameplay on paper seems fun. But gliding feels like it goes from 0 to 100 with not great depth perception on where you'll land or how much you slow down. It would be nice having a bigger shadow to know where exactly you'll land. I also had issues trying to glide onto pillars that would go up and down on a timer, it felt like you had to do it perfectly in order to get on the ledge before it went back up. * There doesn't seem like that much incentive to grab the collectibles in terms of gameplay or story. * There are glitches in the game that you'll be able to go through cracks like towards the end of the game where you can go through and reach the end of the level. By doing so you can attack the crab boss without it fighting back and it will count it as a victory. If you go through the way you'll supposed to right after, you'll find it's lifeless body in pieces. I know how hard it is making a game, and doing so alone on a game this big I commend the developer and don't regret my purchase. It was a fun 2.5 hours despite some of my grievances. This game could be so much better if they had a small team to help split the load on development or more testing.

I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!! Very charming, chill and fun. I only have 2 complains: 1- The bigest one: In the ice cave level there were a bunch of colisonless wall, so I keep accidentally no clipping through the map. Once I almost got my self hardlocked: I ended up falling in the void outside the level, so I immediately exited to the main menu and loading the game, but, because of the way the game autosaves your curent location, I just loaded to the exact moment I started falling through the map (the game had saved rigth before that). I was scared that I would have to start a new game and replay up to that point, but thankfully, in my last attempt I managed to die somehow and go back to the chack point, I wish there was a "Load last checkpoint" bottun or some thing like that in the pause menu. 2- And this is a minor one: I wish the game was avalable in more languages. I am from brasil and I would have loved to be able to play the game in brazilian portuguese, however I understand this game was made by a single dev, so localasing to other languages would be pretty difficult and maybe not viable. I played the game just fine in english, thats way said this was a minor complain. Over all, despite those few problems, it was a pretty fun experience that I really REALLY enjoyed (I even got all the achievements whitch was nice). Good job.
A bit short but really fun.
Haven't gotten overly far, but I'll say I enjoyed this quite a bit, gives sort of Spyro vibes exploring the levels and such. Gets more fun the further in you go, especially once you get to Pirates Perch. I think maybe just the design of it and the visuals. If you pick this up definitely push past the first few islands since I'll be honest I wasn't really excited when I first started. I also am pretty sure this will become a speed game, I'll run it if no one else does, but I DO wish there was a map of the level, even if it was crude, just so that you could see where to go in the world roughly. Overall, I like this game so far and I will update once I finish it. I like the gliding mechanic and also like the overall visuals of the game. I also like some of the humor and the hats add a little extra,
like taking the kings crown after the first boss fight.
. It's a good collectathon that just feels good to play. For some things I'd say to improve, I'm just not someone who will read a bunch of dialog, so I'll be honest I skipped most of it. I wish there were maybe some toast notification popups when you pickup walnuts or see an enemy etc that just gives a one sentence bit of information on it. Like do I need all the walnuts to finish a level? Info like that. A map is a "nice to have" but not something I'd say the game NEEDS. Again, I'll update as I keep going though.
A very fun and cute little 3D platformer with gliding mechanics.
Fun, short game. It does have some clipping issues when using dash. I found myself often going behind the walls after using it. Also it's hard to find some of the golden walnuts without having any kind of tracking them in the game, but overall the game was fun. I enjoyed it and was worth my 2€.
walter
bit rough but really good. like the movement have some quirks that feel like 2000' games physics BUT the overall experience is so satisfying. same goes for the visual side, some quirks with the shadows but art direction is solid and cute. + your child would certainly not be as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as me on movement physics. yes buy it to your child if that is the question, its a simple, not too long, charming game
A fun game with a simple premise Walter Walnut is a short adventure that left me satisfied and pleased with my time. The move set is functional but lacks fluidity (which greatly annoyed the 60 hours in Celeste I have). For a first release priced at 2.49 pounds. I this its a great game at its price. And a great 2 hours enjoyment. (just what I game should be!)
