VRNOID takes the best of arkanoid, VR, and air hockey to create a mesmerizing and exhilarating gaming experience! This fusion of gameplay styles brings a whole new level of fun and immersion. With just a flick of your wrist, you'll find yourself completely immersed in a world of bouncing virtual blocks but beware, there are enemies too. The graphics are stunning, making every level visually captivating. The precision of the controls makes it feel like you're actually holding the paddle in your hands, delivering precise strikes with each swipe. Get ready to lose track of time as you get hooked on this thrilling combination! Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIEaoQ35hQ4
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/OJvvWKaaU8M This is a pretty unique mix of air hockey and brick breaker. It feels very 80s arcade. It plays well. It has nice level designs. Interesting boss fights. The difficulty slowly picks up as new mechanics are introduced. There are power-ups that increase the ball size, give you multi-balls, or slow down time. There's also power-ups (downs?) that make the ball go faster or decrease the ball size (happened to me). You also have different bricks, some that are indestructible, others that take multiple hits, or ones that break with one hit. You also have different enemy types, from vehicles that go fast, from tanks, to shooting towers with shields. Every boss fight is different and unique as well. There are 4 chapters and each chapter has multiple levels. You can also choose the difficulty that best fits your skill (professional difficulty is normal difficulty). Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, game was running at a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. Physics were on point. However, you only use one motion controller, which was a bit of a missed opportunity. I could see using your off-hand for blocking or throwing stuff, which would have upped the difficulty. You can play this game seated. It took me less than 2 hours to get 3/4 of the way through the main campaign. So there isn't many levels (although I would imagine the last chapter is where the game really gets difficult and thus takes more time). There is a level editor where you can easily create levels. However, I didn't see a way to upload them / share them with others. Steam workshop support would have been great. There's also an air hockey mode, but I didn't enjoy that mode. There's also a mode where you can go against a mouse & keyboard local player, but I didn't try that mode. This is the absolute blend of modern gaming and classic arcade action! Performance was flawless and it's so very playable and with custom maps easily downloaded via the steam workshop you can keep the fun going as long as you want. I love the game so much I even gifted it to a friend. Also the Dev is a knight I mean how can you argue with that
Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/, Follow me!
VRNOID is an arcade sport VR game. Have mix feelings with this game of arkanoid + air hockey in VR, the execution and the gameplay of the idea it's pretty nice but there is a big lack on content, I finish the campaign in 2 hours only, also I wish there is more type of skills for use. The game is fun, not saying it's a bad game but it's too short for the price it is.
The gameplay is realy quite simple. After playing some time you can get tired. But then you can play it while sitting. Just make sure that there no object that you can hit. First stages are simple and teahc you about bonuses. Later, you ned to use all your skills to beat exciting challenges. Brick Braker is the main mode of the VRNOID, which even allows players to make their owns levels. Air Hockey is another classcial game, which you can play against AI or even a friend. Cooperative modes allow one friend to join you with a mouse or to play against you. After playing VRNOID for several horus I got tired, but I could reach decent progress in campaing. And I'll definatility finish it with other challenges!!!
Played on my Meta Quest 2 @MatureContent
This is more fun than it looks. It is essentially Peggle in VR but with a pvp air hockey mode on top of that. The main campaign mode in this game is a lot like Peggle. Each map gets increasingly harder with special effects being introduced over time to mix up the gameplay a bit and not make it too repetitive. Beside the Peggle like mode, there also is a classic air hockey mode where you can play against the AI or other players. I played and enjoyed both modes. I bought this on sale for a few bucks and at that price I can definitely recommend it, but I wouldn’t pay the full 10 bucks they ask for it. It is fun, but there isn’t enough content to keep you playing for more than a few hours at most. ————————————————————————————— Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
VRNoid is a classic retro game in Virtual Reality that is much like Brick Breaker. It has several unique touches and a great soundtrack to keep you going. The best part is the leaderboards to compete against friends and a customer map maker! Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG2f1CY4XXc
Good!
VRNOID takes me back to the days when I used to sit in front of a TV and play Space Invaders on the Atari 2600. It features traditional brick breaking levels where you must break all bricks to clear a level. Additionally, it puts and exciting spin on the game with the combination of air hockey, power ups and enemies that add an extra challenge to levels as you dodge and weave your way through oncoming bullets and even deflect them back for extra damage! You can get quite a good workout playing this game! There is even local co-op that allows your partner to hold a striker of their own and control using the mouse on your desktop while you play in VR! This also works with Steam remote play! VRNOID features a decent amount of levels in the action packed campaign and sprinkles in some calmer levels to teach you about new mechanics or powerups along the way. There is even an intuitive level editor that allows you to create your own levels and and stages using the bricks and powerups you unlock along the way. I've had a lot of fun completing the campaign so far, and keep wanting to come back to try new modifiers and place higher on the leaderboard.
I like it.
