I know there's lots of bad ones out there, but this one does stand out from the crowd. I got this game in a VR bundle for about .50 cents USD. I think I easily got a lot more than my money's worth. This is a fun game but it does have some issues which keep it from greatness. The biggest issue is the bow & arrow mechanic is subpar, especially when compared to the likes of In Death, Sacralith, or Holopoint. It doesn't feel realistic (arrow physics) and even notching the arrow is clunky. What I eventually figured out is that you have to keep your hand on your back while pressing trigger and maybe even wiggling your hand a bit until you feel your motion controller buzz. Then you know you have the arrow on your hand and you can safely put it on your bow. This mechanic severely limits how fast you can shoot arrows. It also seems like every now and then (a small percentage of the time) your arrows go straight through enemies when it should be a direct hit. However, the Hunter is definitely more fun to play than the Mage. The actual waves themselves are pretty good. There is a lot of enemy variety and each wave brings stronger enemies. There are melee, ranged, and flying enemies ... big and small. There is full locomotion and you can teleport up or down the map in these teleporting nodes. However, there is no smooth or snap turning, you have to turn IRL. There are lots of magic arrows to choose from, along with a pet & human support. You also upgrade your equipment to have more health, mana, and bigger / better attacks. The problem with the mage class is that using magic spells is generally not fun. You have a pet just like the archer (spider instead of a wolf) and then you have your main attack which is a pet attack owl which you'll use often. It's very hit and miss with the owl. The same goes for the magic spells. There are some magic spells you're supposed to toss and then others you're supposed to shoot. Problem is they are all very clunky to use. For those reasons, I didn't find the mage class all that fun to play. There are only 2 small maps. However, there a lot of enemies to fight. Every other wave also has a different boss fight. I was surprised that after an hour of playing the Hunter that I had only finished Act 1 and was on my way to Act 2. Both the Mage and the Hunter also have 2 classes you can mix and match. Hunter has Fire and/or Frost & Mage has Arcane and/or Necromancer. The graphics are not the best nor are the sounds. I had some strange issue where at the start of the game it would take me out of VR and it would bring up a Windows 10 Store error saying it couldn't find Vive. I was able to play on by basically just ignoring the error message and clicking back on the game. However, this issue was annoying. Despite all the above, I had fun playing this game. I'm not sure it's worth $9.99 USD on the Oculus Rift (with the Vive issue mentioned above), but it's better than most TD / wave shooters out there. Rate 6/10. This could be a great game if more time were spent on polishing it up, especially the bow & arrow mechanic for the Hunter and the spell attack mechanic for the Mage, plus making it 100% compatible for the Oculus Rift.
VR Hero Sentry is a free VR wave defence game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. You choose between an Archer or a Wizard for ranged attacks. You can upgrade your gear, using money from rewards. Has a tutorial. Like a Wave defense game. This was a paid product at one time, now it is free to play. Try this game you might like it.
Ein Wave-Shooter zu einem angemessenen Preis, der ausnahmsweise mal Spaß macht durch die unterschiedlichen Charaktere und Fähigkeiten, taktischen Boss-Kämpfen, Charakter-Level und gute Steuerung. Playing this game, since beta was a good thing for me, I love running around and fighting wave after wave, of endless monsters, if maybe you had an endless mode or a sandbox mode, EVEN BETTER a tutorial for people to learn how to play it easier, would REALLY improve how to play it. I had trouble trying to figure out how to even use the archer and how to even toss my spells. Also a running feature wouldn't hurt.
I really like this game, the graphics are wow and the mechanics are really nice, but i cant shot with the bow or cast a spell with my right controller. I use the Oculus Rift S and i tried everything and the same way like the tutorial, but i cant get an arrow or shoot the fire arrow. Why? Otherwise its a really nice game. :D
I see its now free to play, but i got it in a bundle if i remember correctly and just recently played it. The game overall is ok, not great, but good enough. I played for a good 25 minutes and it was entertaining, i found the item purchases and upgrades to my magic and companion where great, but the over all fighting mechanics felt a bit clunky. There are a considerable amount of different enemies, which added variety, i liked the Enemy boss battles (got to kill 3). So overall if yout this for free or in a very cheap bundle this is a fun but somewhat clunky 1st person tower defense/wave game.
pretty fun game, played a wizard and 45 minutes flew by
