В целом игра прикольная. Смесь резика с метройдом. Есть баги, но для раннего доступа пройдёт. Из отмеченных: -подвисает. -не показывает описание предметов и способностей. Всё остальное вроде нормально или мною не замечено.

2D survival horror side-scroller game with stylized character of western sensbilities (aka not anime) have been on my mind as I'm trying to help my team at work find their footing in edgier genres, themes and styles that are far outside their comfort zone. So my ears perked up when I discovered VonGarland Castle: Beyond Blood! It's a cool game. It is like a 2D Resident Evil 1 combined with elements from Metal Gear Solid put through a North American cartoon and comic book filter. Its a vibe. What I liked the most about the game is how cohesive and ballsy the art direction is. The style doesnt have global appeal but it certainly is cool and uniqe. The sad thing is that the game look better in screenshots than it does in motion. The characters suffers from clunky 'paper puppet' animation, most likely made in Spine. If the studio had found a way to make the animation more exciting and dynamic it could have helped the game to really turn heads. The character designs are all stemming from the comic book art style which is cool, gritty and whimiscial at the same time. The heroine Ransom looks like a badass with her playful proprotions. The studio chose to take a safe route by not emphasizing her curves in the animations. Some of the enemies can look quite goofy, which lead to breaking the immersion for me. The environment art, the overall mood and lighting in the game is on-point! Gameplay is a bit janky though. Ransom moves like a tank, enemies can get stuck on raised collision, boss fights doesnt feel balanced. Beyond that, the Resident Evil 1 loop of finding key, solving mystery, open door, shoot zombies, find item, be forced to do item management, shoot more zombies, but in 2D just isnt that fun. I doubt I will come back and play more. That being said, Ransom aiming her gun with a laser sight in dark setting is an image I will remember.

Its OK game, love art style and music, atmosphere - but numbers of small issues and small bugs can kill your positive attitude (prepare for fighting with enemies and game itself...).

Despite theres some bugs that needs to be fixed, this Castlevania & Resident Evil inspirational mash up has been made to perfection.
