Reviews
The game is fun. You can mine and kill enemies and you have an annoying timer. You can upgrade your gear and you can get skills. The game runs perfectly on the Steam Deck and probably any device, the creator seems to not be a greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I even got the game for free for translating, but this review is still my own opinion and is not sponsored. I do hope we get online multiplayer, co-op and character customization soon too!
i swear i've seen that blacksmith somewhere
you know that you can void? well here you can also loop voidslop
Voidloop: 10.5h | 100% Achievements (50/50) | Recommended
It all starts with "I miss my home" and then suddenly I find myself in the middle of a forest talking with a sweet old man who loves cosplaying.
Achievement Breakdown
Grindy Achievements: Yes (~1). "Master Slayer" can be a bit of a hassle (yes I'm talking about you damn snakes). Missable Achievements: No, you can get all of them regardless of what point in the game you are. Difficult Achievements: No.
What is Voidloop About?
Voidloop is a simple and cozy Roguelite game with some incremental-ish features. Have you ever played Stardew Valley? In case you did, do you really enjoy going to the mines? Then you are going to absolutely love this game. Prepare your pickaxe & sword together with your spells and go spelunking to your heart's content. Pros: - Visuals & UI-Design - Fun gameplay loop - Satisfying Progression Cons: - Enemy reskin - Lack of endgame content, so you can't really use your final upgrades - Endgame can be a bit boring for some people, since the gameplay gets pretty repetitive (More about the pros and cons in the in-depth review part below)
Should You Buy This Game?
Yes, if you like Roguelites and resource collecting. If you're exclusively looking for an Incremental game where numbers go brr you're better off looking for something else. This game doesn't have prestige, Idle content, or anything really heavy on the Incremental side of things.
In-Depth Review

Visuals
Voidloop is displayed with 2D pixel art mixed with 3D models; everything is made in a way that simply fits, including the main character design, which is really cute and has a lot of expressions. The UI is also clean with its own style.
Soundtrack
Sound design is not the main forte for this game, it has some background music, but it's there just for the sake of it. The sound effects are really nice, though.
The Game
Voidloop is a game where you will be constantly on the lookout for materials while you kill all the enemies on your way and keep an eye on the timer for each run, motivating you to clear the floors as fast as you can to go deeper and deeper and get even more resources. The combat is simple, with few enemy variants: melee, ranged and "jumpy" enemies which will not impose any big challenge on you. Your main weapons are the sword and some magic skills which all can be upgraded and get stronger as you progress. You have a skill tree, and every achievement completed gives you 1 skill point for it, so I recommend knocking out achievements early to get even stronger. There is also an Alchemy system where you can craft some potions to give you different buffs. But by the end of it you will be using 3 at most: the ones that gives you more resources, increase resource quality, and give you more time per floor. The more you play, the more repetitive the gameplay gets, since you don't have much enemy variety or big challenges that completely change your gameplay. In short, each level is the same thing: Find a lever → Press → Find the exit to the next level. Repeat. If there were any boss fights or harder enemies to deal with it could be a good way to make you think out of the box, especially near to the endgame where you have your skills maxed. There are two minor nitpick details I believe are worth mentioning: First, there's an enemy reskin that appears right after you fought the same enemy in a previous floor but in a different color. By this point you've explored and looped so much that it feels dull. Second, the bestiary. Each enemy needs around 200-250 kills to complete, and you need every single one for "Master Slayer" achievement. Once you finish, the enemy's border inside the bestiary turns golden, visually rewarding you for completing it. Buuuuut you have ghosts, unkillable enemies that patrol the map waiting for your minor slip, once you get to their view range they teleport you to the beginning of the map and you have to try again. Remember I said they are unkillable? Well, that changes when you get the skill "Void Addict". After that you can wipe them out. But even after killing them, their bestiary entry stays the same and doesn't turn golden like the others. It would be a nice touch if it did turn gold. It would reward the player who went that far to do it, and it would give a better 100% completion feeling.
Conclusion
Voidloop lets you experience a nice mining adventure, with lots of forging, crafting and fighting. You can see a lot of care has been put into this game, and this just makes the whole experience even better. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if the developer adds any engaging and fun endgame content with future updates. A Void exploration sounds really cool, who knows? It would be nice to unleash your final upgraded powers over some new enemies and maps.
Wonderful game, it was a blast! thank you <3
