So this is a color tile match game. Colored tiles keep rolling down the line and your job is to match 3 in any way to make space for even more tiles. So I'm sure most of you reading this are already familiar with the game type. The question is, does this VR game add anything to the game? The answer is not really. Now, the game plays well enough. But the mechanics used don't really capture what VR is all about. I used the Oculus Rift with motion controllers. The first problem this game has is that for whatever reason, you're put farther away from where you're supposed to be (so you will need a good playing area to move forward so that your hands can reach into the apparatus that controls the tile catcher if you want to use your motion contollers). You control the shifting tile catcher by putting your hand close enough to one of the 5 pillars. The tile catcher goes to the one where your hand is. You then press the A button to release the tile where you want. The VR environment is very plain and the music is generic (at least you can turn it off). But why can't I listen to my own music? Do I recommend this game? This is a very tough call because I got the game on sale at $1.19. I am sure it works fine for those using a mouse and keyboard in VR and really want to play a match tile game in VR no matter the quality. However, the game can easily be so much better in VR. How? Put a better VR environment. Let us listen to our own music. This is a relaxing game so put those things in here so we can enjoy the casual game. What else needs to be done? They need to add a simple mechanic that uses the touch controller to add immersion. How about using the touch controller to move the tile catcher with our hands or body? We can move side to side via shifting our body or by moving our feet or use our hands side to side to move the tile catcher side to side. Then we can tip it over with our hands. That's just common sense here. This game could easily be about moving fast enough with our bodies or hands and quick thinking to match the colored tiles and that would make this game better in VR Final verdict? Even at .99 cents, this game needs more work to make it enjoyable enough to recommend Rating 3/10
Virtual Reality can bring a lot of new and cool things to gaming. Not all games do anything new or cool with VR though. This is one of those games. You ever think to yourself "I'd like to play this game but instead of watching it on a flat screen I'd rather see it exactly as I do now, only in VR"? If so, this is the game you have been looking for. This game is essentilaly Klax (a classic Arcade game that only 90's kids will remember). There's nothing cool or new about how this game is displayed in VR (I think I already said that) and so there's really no reason to be playing this in VR. I'm pretty sure I got this in a bundle and I wouldn't have bought it outside of that bundle because it's kinda lame. You had one job Virtugo. All you had to do was reproduce the 90's arcade game Klax and instead you threw it in VR and gave it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controls. Oh and the name seems like they came up with it first and then tried to make a game to fit it, and then failed and threw their Klax clone in there. (sigh) I'm mostly just disappointed though... I mean, I started the game up with zero expectations (I didn't even know it was a Klax clone until after I spent 5 seconds with it in-game) and I still feel let down. I feel like the developer of this game should just cut his losses and make it a non-VR version and sell it for 50¢.
Things I like about this

It's Klax

Things I dislike about this

lackluster graphics
Crappy controls
Crappy music
Crappy Sound effects
VR for no reason
Not fun
How could they fix this? [olist]
Well first off, the controls...For motion controls, I should be able to grab the tiles with my hands to place them. I see that there's a keyboard and mouse mode, and that may even be better than the current motion control method, but it just serves to highlight how useless it was to make this in VR.
Add some better music (without being too overbearing), 3 seconds after I turned the game off I had already forgotten what the music sounded like.
Add some better sound effects.
Do something to differentiate yourself from Klax without ruining the game formula. You could make different weights of tiles maybe and the stacking of a heavy tile on a light tile might break the lighter tile. You might be able to hold 3 light tiles in your hand before you dump them but only 1 heavy tile. Something as simple as that would make this game more interesting.
split up the conveyor belts so that I have to look around me to see which tiles are coming off of which belt (with positional audio cues) [/olist] Anything but just (Milhouse voice) "hey guys, remember Klax? Well now it's back in VR form!" As this game is now, I can't recommend it, even if (or especially if) you're a big Klax fan. It was so bad that this game was one of the first that I couldn't even stand to play for 5 whole minutes. I had to let the game run for another minute since I only had 4 minutes showing on my account.
3 out of 10 It's okay but nothing special. It works fine in VR, but the game just comes across as basic clone of the original game. Visually it's very drab and somehow the developer has made the game less enjoyable than the orginal by a large factor. This game lacks soul or any purpose to exist.
NIce tile ordering game for quick matchs. With better interaction (hands) with the tiles in VR could be amazing, I hope they update.
Great remake of an old arcade game in spirit that wouldn't of been made otherwise. I love it!
addictive and fun! Would be super fun on the go , mobile soon?
Doesn't work with WMR Motion controllers.
Not fun at all.
