i liked this game. haven't played much in a while but i love the charm it has, though the choice to make it pay-to-play instead of keeping it free-to-play is a bit odd. i'll show my support the dev has on future projects, but overall a 7.3/10 not for me but still enjoyed it.

I like the game but there's some visual glitches I mean that's alright because you can just get out of it and get back into it whatever screen you are on but the fitness minigames are terrible there's a achievement to get 50 whatever Fitness thing you're doing but it's so hard and the running one is completely unfair with its hit box I got this game when it was on sale for 100% but even if it was for you I would say it's ok give it a shot but when it's 5 bucks it's not worth your money until they fix up the glitches add more stuff make the animations better and there's no replayability if it's not free and it's on this condition and it stays that way it's a bad game but if they fix it up because I believe it's a good concept then it would be decent if you are going to buy it wait for a sale
Back in the ‘90s, the digital pet craze led by the Tamagotchi toys taught kids how to take care of a pixelated animal. These pets needed basic things like food, entertainment, and attention or their mood would deteriorate. They could even “die,” which was a threat that kept kids playing with them regularly throughout the day. While this fad has since faded away, there are still remnants of these digital pets around today. One such example is the game VirtuaCreature—a hybrid between Tamagotchi and Pokémon. The simple graphics of VirtuaCreature brought the vibe of Tamagotchi to my computer and Steam Deck. There is also the option to battle these creatures in a rock-paper-scissors style battle that pulls at least a limited influence from Pokémon. These creatures evolve given enough experience through training and battling, but they also have a mood that can sour if you let them get too hungry/full or lose too many battles. It can be difficult to improve the creature’s mood, but knowing what helps and what doesn’t (which isn’t clearly explained) makes it easy enough to train the creature to the maximum level. The biggest problem I have with this game is the “countdown timer” mechanic that you usually see in plenty of free-to-play games. Sure, this game was free, but it’s designed to keep you coming back and continuing to play. Since the creatures’ stomachs empty in real-time (much like Tamagotchi did), I needed to check in with them a few times a day to make sure they were well fed. After a while, this game became a chore, and I hadn’t even realized until I sunk a ton of time into it. So, if you want to recreate the stress of keeping a digital pet alive, then this is the game for you. A digital pet game that might be a bit too addicting, I give VirtuaCreature 3.0 stars out of 5.
I got this since it was free and I was finding myself weirdly craving to play just a good old fashioned turn-based RPG game, and I mean, it's not all too bad - if I could give a neutral rating I probably would - but since I have to pick thumbs up or thumbs down, i gotta say I don't think I could reccomend this. The only niche I could think is if you are REALLY into tamagotchi style stuff. The problem is this game just kinda feels... empty... The pace is pretty slow, you gotta wait for a lot of stuff and do a lot of grinding, but you also have to keep playing regularly to feed and keep your creatures happy. Grinding is mostly done through basic minigames that get old fast, but need to be played repeatedly to progress. Obviously, the artstyle isn't all that inspiring. I like the pixelart fine enough, but these constant plain white backgrounds with plain black borders I have to admit really started to bother me... I did enjoy the actual combat enough, but I could not say it was anything unique; and it would really have to be for me to keep playing this, considering the combat is what I was doing all the grinding for in the first place...
it's too boring for me.
