There was a lot of controversy with the bald man’s will, turns out he didn’t have any heirs

Storyline:
Mr. Davenport, owner of a luxurious hotel in Las Vegas is looking for a heir. He is terminally ill and doesn't have long to live. With no close ties, he entrusts you with the task of identifying the ideal candidate from four potential heirs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3159842773 [olist]
Ashley, an illusionist who has worked in the hotel for many years, but doesn't know Mr. Davenport well. She seems a bit dark and sarcastic.
Mallory, a homeless young woman, found refuge in the hotel after an alleged gambling incident in Mr. Davenport's hotel. She seems to bring bad luck.
Sara and her family of 3, are known for their holier-than-thou sanctimonious lifestyle devoid of modern conveniences. They seem too good to be true.
Becca and Tod, newlyweds with a strained relationship, recently tied the knot in Las Vegas. They don't seem to even like each other.[/olist] Your mission is to unravel the true nature of each candidate through in-depth conversations and figure out who would be the "best" heir. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3159842709
Gameplay:
You can engage in conversations with the candidates, exploring various topics that provide insights into their personalities, issues, and secrets. The storyline is filled with unexpected twists and turns, it kept me captivated throughout the game. Choices in conversation topics do not influence the storyline or ending. There is only one big decision at the end of the interviews, who will be the heir. There is no save/load system. The game does save when you quit. But to get all the achievements, you have to rewatch everything. If you have finished the game for the first time you can skip already-seen conversations with the "S" button. However, on the Steamdeck this is not that easy and pretty annoying to do. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3159842308
Graphics & Sounds
Exceptional acting and typecasting breathe life into the characters. They did an excellent job of making the characters feel like real people instead of actors. Despite the absence of special effects and diverse backgrounds and environments, the interviews all take place on the same couch, but the game's simplicity contributes to its overall charm. The noteworthy ending credits music, though familiar (I can't quite put my finger on it), added a touch of nostalgia to the overall experience for me (if anybody knows from which game it is, please let me know :))
Final Verdict
Vegas Tales took me almost two hours to complete. Although it isn't a groundbreaking deep story or makes use of any special effects, it is a very enjoyable experience. The constant twists in the storyline and the surprises made this game so much fun to play, like reading a good book on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, it doesn't have much replayability besides trying to gather all the achievements and there is only one choice that influences the ending. Still, it was a very fun experience that made me go: "Ohhhhh what the hell", at times. I played this game fully on the Steamdeck. Story/Plot: Vegas Tales is a game where the wealthy resort owner of the Bellflower Hotel is dying. He has no close heirs or friends to leave it to, and thus decides to leave it to a small group of people he either knew briefly or met by happenstance. He can't decide which one to go with, leaving it up to you to decide who is the most worthy. I will say I actually enjoyed the vast majority of the performances and cast but of course this is down to personal preference. Needless to say the first impression you get with most of the people actually hides an interesting veneer on most of the interviews if you have a little patience to sit through it. Visuals: The game is FMV which stands for Full Motion Video...basically, everything is recorded, and then you get a list of questions to explore the past of the possible heirs, and at the end you convince the owner who to go with. Gameplay: Gameplay consists of sitting through the interviews/questions you conduct. Occasionally additional topics will be revealed as you explore the options that come up. If you go far enough, you can eventually unveil a hidden truth which clears all the choices for that individual. Sound/Music: There are only two things really to mention about sound. The first is that as an FMV game, the majority of it is spoke, and I will say the actors and actresses delivered their lines fairly convincingly. I won't say there wasn't a brief moment or two where it seemed forced, but that was rare. There was occasional background music, but it was really forgettable: no one will be buying this game for a soundtrack. Difficulty: This game is the easiest sort to play. Listen to people answer questions/topics you pose, and choose them with a mouse. However, they should have an option to skip dialogue, at least if you go to play it for a second time. Additionally, I don't see people sitting through this since there is little replay value other than to get the achievements. Extras/Achievements: The game does have Steam Achievements for those who care about such things; basically to get all of them you would have to replay the game 4 times. Otherwise, there is nothing else special that comes with the game. Recommendation: Recommendations are often easy or hard depending on how much you enjoyed the game. However, a game like Vegas Tales is hard to decide on. I personally enjoyed it, and didn't mind the cost of $12.99 so for me it was worth it. However, this game can be a turn off for a certain segments of gamers. I hate to say it, but you would have to ask yourself the following questions: 1. Do you hate games that are mostly talking with some choices thrown in (like the old Tell-Tale Games)? Then this game might not be for you. 2. Do you want a game that gives a lot of time or replay value like to get all the achievements? Then this game might not be for you. 3. Even with an FMV game, do you like having a variety of locations/etc. or weirdness like some of the Wales Interactive? This might not be the game for you since it consists of interviewing people on the couch. So I could recommend this game, but there are a lot of caveats doing so. If the price was lower, then it would be an easier recommendation. For the record, I didn't mind paying the price, and workers/game developers deserve pay...but there are a lot of customers who would feel that what you spend on this game, full price, may not be worth it.
Genre
Ein Full Motion Video Spiel mit Fokus auf Konversation
Story
Achievement Schwierigkeit 1/10

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
For better or worse, this game is very simplistic, easy to learn and short. You can get all dialogues on the first run if you follow the guide posted in the community section, and then watch all 3 other endings in different runs. You can view the whole content in about 2 hours. Once you watch all four endings, there is very little replay value. The story features crazy characters giving humorous responses. In this regard, it is more than a bit Dekkeresque. I mean, similar to the Doctor Dekker game. People getting interviewed on the same stage. If you familiar with the reference, picture Dr. Dekker, but after more than a few beers. If you are into FMV games that do not take themselves very seriously, this may be worth checking out. As a big fan of this kind of game, I do hope to see more titles coming from the developers. I could not recognize their names from any previous title, so it may be their first venture into this field. And it was a totally enjoyable one. The characters in this game were hilarious. Wonderfully written and masterfully performed. If you want to experience around 2 hours of crazy characters, weird dialogues and purely unadulterated comedy, pick it up.
It was fun to listen to their stories. Some of them were rather funny, some unexpected. Replayability is low. And cutting the talking when you find an issue with a candidate is annoying (the rest of the options in talk menu disappear when you use the final one that uncovers the truth so you can miss listening to some answers). There is no option to skip watching videos in the second run (this is usually the major complaint in all FMV games, not sure why developers don't add skipping videos and history page where you can watch subtitles of the skipped fragment in case you skipped it by mistake). So even when developers suggest replaying the game to have different view on their answers after knowing their secret or to find more secrets it is too hard without an option to skip and feels like a waste of time. Length of the game is about 2 hours for a single playthrough. Overall I still recommend the game as I enjoyed it.
The four potential owners each have fun stories to tell, each with a bit of a twist in their claim to own the hotel. I was very surprised by a couple of them. The scenes were well acted, with engaging performances which drew you into the snapshots of the lives you're confronted with. The game doesn't have much in the way of replay value, beyond getting the achievements, but for a game that can be completed in a few hours, it was an enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend it.
I only played 76 minutes because it crashed at a specific point so I couldn't actually play more. Reloading saves and such didn't fix it. I like the concept but I can't recommend it if I literally can't play it.
J'en pleure encore de rire. Certaines histoires sont folles. 11/10
Very fun, and replay is a must in my opinion, just to find another paths.
Nicht schlecht, hat aber nicht so einen so großen Wiederspielwert. Wird aber je nachdem ca. 2h relativ gut unterhalten wie ich finde.
