This game has potential but it's just not there yet.
Pros:
- I like the cartoon vehicle graphics, as it is a nice break from all the fancy animated graphics.
- I like the line-art environment concept.
- I like the contrast between the dark background and the line art used for the buildings/environment
- Handling is VERY arcade-like. Not realistic, however easy to handle and maneuver. It feels a bit sluggish in responsiveness
but but you get used to it.
Cons:
- $18.99? Really? Biggest con is that this costs more than $1. If you can get it for $1 or less, it's ok. Otherwise it is WAY overpriced due to it having such a serious lack of features.
- Like I stated above, there is a SERIOUS lack of features. No vehicle selection. No map selection. Only 2 modes, including city freeroam and race. Race is simply just beating the clock. You do not race against other vehicles, every race clock is exactly the same times to beat, and there's no leaderboards at all whatsoever. If you win, there's not even a place to put your initials to record your time.
- Map is OK but you can get your car stuck on the curbs at times.
- Needs a much better UI and additional dialogs.
- I like the "concept" of the graphics they use. However, the implementation leaves A LOT to be desired. They are both too simple and too busy. It makes it hard to see where to go at times. There are shortcuts, but sometimes what appears to be a shortcut has a curb in front of it. Thinner, more detailed lines for the line-art as well as fading of the lines that are more distant from your current location would help improve the overall experience.
- Has everything that a "get rich quick" type of game has, which is NOT a good thing. For example, game costs way too much, next-to-no effort was put into the game, and the design is so simple that it does not hold your attention for more than 5 minutes. They just put up whatever they can slap together in a few days and ask way too much hoping that they can make a quick buck.
Final thoughts:
If you can get this game for free or $1 or less, sure, you might have some fun with it for 20-30 minutes at most. However, the sheer lack of features, including no progression system, basically forces you to get bored with it very quickly. It is not worth nearly $20, and will never be unless they put some serious time and effort into the game to dramatically improve it in features, visuals, and overall experience.
