Vasilisa and Baba Yaga

A spooky adventure where Vasilisa's journey and service to Baba Yaga consist of a series of mini-games with a variety of gameplay mechanics.

You will go on a journey with Vasilisa to the land of the dead to obtain the power of fire, which only Baba Yaga can give. Vasilisa already has a magical helper — a doll given by her mother. But this is not enough to deal with the evil stepmother. It is necessary to pass the tests of the mistress of the forbidden forest and prove to her that Vasilisa is worthy to receive the power not only from her mother, but the mother of all mothers — Baba Yaga.

On your way you will encounter:

Сombat missions:

• fight petty evil spirits

• defeat the lord of the river Vodyanoy, lord of the swamp Bolotnik and lord of the forest Leshy (defeat the lords of the river, swamp and forest: Vodyanoy, Bolotnik and Leshy)

• prevail against the cruel stepmother

Household chores

• wash a mountain of dishes

• do a pile of laundry

• tidy up Baba Yaga's hut

• prepare the dough and bake some pirogi

Tasks to test attentiveness

• escape the fog

• successfully leave the forest

• do not get lost in the algae

Tasks to test dexterity

• sneak past a sleeping Vodyanoy without being caught

• creep quietly past Bolotnik without being found

• escape detection by Leshy

• flee From Baba Yaga

• The game is based on unadapted versions of fairytales and folktales with elements of what is perceived in modern culture as horror.

• The narrator reads the tale in a South Russian dialect. The story is told in the same manner as in Russian villages.

• The soundtrack is an original piece based on folk songs from the central and southern parts of Russia.

• The built-in encyclopaedia of folk tale characters, demonic creatures, household items, customs and rituals was compiled with the help of a consulting folklorist.
