Did this really took you so long? Disappointing ... I played it for 3 hours and I'm more angry than amused. I would rather play the original 30 -year -old punch out, which has been charged with fun since the first minute. When you have been robbing so much from the punch out, you should have done it so fun too.
I discovered Retro Knock-Out! through a Kickstarter but i'm not a backer, hence my thoughts aren't biased. This is a fun boxing game with good comedy throughout. Game mechanics are simple, yet the game is challenging in a sense that You will have to learn opponents move patterns and get good at the timing of your punches and dodges. Each opponent (and each round!) requires You to learn his movesets and apply different strategies to win. Some opponents require You to play more defensively, some more offensively and there is a good variety in play styles, so the challenge is always kept fresh. The art is top notch combining different artstyles for different sections of the game. The story is well written with many funny parody elements on real life people, songs, movies and other themes. The music is good, it'll keep You pumped! Voice acting is surely entertaining, there are some nice surprises from quirky parody characters. Good indie games deserve more attention, that's why I wanted to leave my thoughts on this one. It's my first review on Steam, but hopefully i'll find more quality stuff to review. Cheers!
This game was made for fans of NES Punch Out and also George Foreman K.O Boxing (SNES). However, it is definitely not the same game as either. While most attacks by most opponents have an animation or something to tell you that they are about to attack, not all of them do. But they do all follow a pattern. The secret to success is trying, failing, memorizing, exploiting, then KOing them, or winning by decision. It is possible to lose to every character in this game. Winning requires focus and attention to detail. If you are familiar with George Foreman KO Boxing, then you'll be used to losing to every boxer lol. Also, don't be afraid to block. I don't think I ever touched the block button in NES punch out, but you will need it for this game. Battles are meant to be tactical-ish. There are times where you will want to do body shots. There are times where you will want to do headshots. I played the uncensored version, which is fine. The parts of the game that are explicit are limited. The game doesn't actually need any of the explicit material to be good as the gameplay is very solid. I only have 1 objection on this game I wished you guys would fix the controls everything is great like Mike Tysons punchout except 1 major flaw in Mike Tysons punchout when you do a face punch u don't have to hit up on the dpad at the same time everytime with the action button in Mike's punchout I wished the developer would fix it to were all u have to do is keep holding up and then the action buttons all you want check it and compare and you will see on Mike's punchout to me it made it less demanding on controls and more interesting and fun other then that absolutely no complaints most awesome game 😉 thanks vanilla beast and steam
Честно говоря, игра - мусор. Нужно в определенные тайминги и время тыкать определенные кнопки, короче дрочильня. Никому не советую
This game is a real treat if your the target demographic. Ill start with the gameplay, If you are someone who has played all the punchout games i would say the gameplay is most similar to the Arcade punch out games than any of the others, but its very much its own thing. the core that the combat is built on is freedom to cancel things, there is not a single action that you have to commit to, everything can be canceled early into any other thing, this leads to very aggressive fights where you can punch like a mad man and cancel into a block or dodge instantly if you react correctly. Vanilla is no little mac, he is a beast and can stand toe to toe with the other boxers, but that wont mean it will be easy, you have so much freedom and power to keep advantage, but when mistakes happen they are punished HARD, you have to use your surplus of options smart. I came here only for some Punch Out style gameplay but ended up liking the silly story a lot more than i expected to. It can be a bit too raunchy for me in a few moments. but most of the time seeing what they will parody next is always a great time. it took me a bit over 15 hours to 100% the game but i have played a lot of punch out style games so dont expect to get through too quickly. i had to bust out pen and paper to write down tactics and patters for the final boss, and even then i was only able to win by decision after 7 rounds. I think if you look at this game for more than a few seconds it should be easy to tell if its up your ally, if you like Punch out fights, Parody humor, and can handle some raunchy moments, this is a game for you Say hi to "Colonel uh MF Sanderson" for me
I purchased this game expecting it to be like Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Instead I got controls so awkward I can't even edit, conflicting art styles and weirdly angled cut-scenes, and abysmal voice acting. It's as if they wanted to just have a game where we have big bare breasted women just walk around and suck you off, and the boxing part was just a footnote. By looking at the publishers and the developing team involved for this game, my hypothesis is not so far fetched. Save your money on this one.
it's a good game for the ppl who love boxing like me and i like it, also there's the belts and that's pretty cool.
LoL,this game is hilarious. Miss playing punchout? This game is sure to entertain. Easy controls but some opponents can be challenging, have fun!
Damn it's so funny ! Love it !
