Accidently bought this thinking it was a different game, but had a blast finishing all it had to offer.

This game has a special place in my heart. It leans more into the RPG elements if you acctually take the time to listen to NPC's and read the lore found all around the map in the shape of letters, articles, diary entries, notes and more. The Combat is rewarding when you get a feel for it. The weapons however are so and so. The upgrades feel linear and there are some customization options for each gun, but to be blunt - They all feel very similar to one another. I wish there were more options for weapons found later in the game, rewarding the time spent to obtain them. One example would be giving the weapons a higher damage output when used in combination with other weapons with similar properties. Another example would be to have a seperate damage meter that scales with your level, increasing the incentive to level up. Maybe adding a Strength upgrade option to make it balanced since the player has to invest XP to get stronger. Exploration - There is no fast-travel in this game, but the size of the map makes up for it. Its not too big that it makes the trip from A to B unbearable. One sided shortcuts are scattered throughout the game, and at first the game makes you go the long way to open them, but I wish they would stay open forever one I open them from the "right" side. Having the doors be closed on my second pass-through of an area after resting is not exatly fun. If fast-travel is not an option than keeping the door open for me should be a no-brainer(This might be a bug, im not sure). I really like the alleys in the game filled with small collectibles and crafting materials. The Sidestories for this game can be put into three categories: Fetchquests, Scout and report, Decision quests (you chose what to do with the item or knowledge you found/learned) Even though they are similar in style, each side-story/quest feel unique for every character you meet, I wish there was more depth to the character once you unlock their hints. The Dialog between Dr. Reid and the NPCs doesn't change much throughout the game. A standard conversation goes like this: "Tell me of your hobbies [...]" they reply "I often hang with friends and play tennis" Johnathan: "Friends? Tell me more." or "Tennis? What would a man of your caliber be doing on a tennis court." The options feel bland, and similar to one another, so conversations can feel copy-pasted. Dont get me wrong! The topics of the conversations feel different enough to make characters stand out as indeviduals, and most characters with a social circle will speak of the others fondly or with spite, depending on their relationship. The NPCs mood will only change once you kill an idevidual, which makes sence, but I wish they would move their faces according to the mood they are in. Which brings me to the animations. They are great in combat, but the RPG experience gets nerfed by the puppet-like mouthmovements. Characters appear dead from the getgo. They dont have any noticeable facial expressions that match your answers. They shed no tears. They dont smile. They dont laugh at snide remarks, or react in any way. Their idle animations feel unatural to they topic of the conversation, often disconnected entirely. The Main Story is great, with actual consequenses for your actions and choises made through the game. I would love a post-game opportunity, but the game ends when you beat the final boss. The replayability is there, but too subtile for the avarage gamer. I would recommend this game to gamers who enjoy a slow burn RPG with Action elements. I will definetly come back to this game over and over to play and see what certain choises do to impact my playthrough.
Стараешься никого просто так не убивать, следить за районом, но на финальном боссе психуешь, убиваешь всех нахрен и лутаешь плохую концовку... 11/10 съеденных крыс.
Captivating. Really enjoyed the game as I played through it. A few things frustrated me or I wish had been in the game: 1. No mini map you will open the full map a million times (not joking). 2. No fast travel I really wish this game had it. It makes me think twice about replaying the game, if I want to do a pacifist run. 3. I really thought I could finish the side missions and unlock the remaining Steam achievements after completing the main story.
This game has a pretty good narrative and most of the characters have a decent personality that makes you feel it when something happens to them. The music and sounds of the game are really well done, and fit the atmosphere very well for each location, without drowning everything. The look of the game is well done as well giving the feeling that you are indeed in the middle of the influenza epidemic in London in 1918. The world itself is overall pretty fun to travel. I very rarely found myself wishing that there was a fast travel system, or some other way to travel faster. I also almost always had reasons to constantly go to each area on the map even by the end of the game, whether that was resources, quests, or some other management I needed to do, and it didn't feel tedious. They built the world very well to what the game needed. The game's biggest downfalls are the combat and leveling system with no question. Certain weapons are obviously more favored than others, the leveling system pushes feeding over morality and also directly controls difficulty.....except when it doesn't. The combat loop once figured out, almost negates any level disadvantage you may have. Being able to pretty easily beat a creature 14 levels above you because of one or two combat mechanics is a problem. Very few of the vampire abilities are truly usable in combat in a meaningful way and some of the boss fights were kind of meh. Overall I would give this game a solid 6.5-7 out of 10. The story really was interesting, and there were some turns that really surprised me out of nowhere. But the combat and leveling really leave a lot to be desired for game play.
прекрасная сюжетка без аутистически огромных дорог с точки до точки как в третьем ведьмаке, погружает не только в основной сюжет но и интересно слушать истории горожан и расспрашивать всех о конкретных людях\о их отношению с проблемой в лондоне
