A game with this few polygons has no right to be this slow. There is also nothing resembling instructions, even after reading the "official game guide" in the discussion I only get a vague idea of the mechanics (a "seige bonus" is mentioned exactly once without elaboration. It's apparently conditional but I have no idea on what.) The amount of damage units do to each other appears almost completely random. Some of the mechanics make sense (eg archers are more effective on larger targets), but I've seen some completely unintuitive outcomes as well (eg cavalry getting wiped by archers in melee). The gameplay loop is also lacking, you just click end turn until your army is a nice size, then attack by placing your units, then attacking the enemy ones that appear scattered through the map after you're done placing yours. None of this is really explained, but once you figure it out it gets boring fast. There are much better turn-based tactics games out there.

This game is very bare bones. It feels more like a demo than a $10 game. Here's a list of things that feel like oversights: 1. "Campaign" means linear levels, which would be okay if they were handcrafted to be uniquely difficult. Instead, each island looks practically the same, with only slight, imperceptible variations. 1.2. If we don't even get interesting battlefields, why can't we have some kind of grand strategy element? There is no economy management (unless you count getting a 5 coin paycheck per turn), nothing in terms of strategy except, "Go forward," and I don't even know what the "managing people" is supposed to be. 2. None of the factions have much which makes them stand out. It doesn't help that the only thing on the battlefield letting you know which faction you're fighting is skin tone (by its loosest definition). None of the factions have distinct units (legionares for the Romans, horse archers for the Huns, etc.), or maybe they do, but I couldn't tell because there's only a generic "special unit" for each faction. There's not even distinct banners, or a description of each faction. 3. The battles are boring. Nothing interesting about the mechanics. Not much else to say. 4. There's a weird bug where the game goes into the tiniest window you will ever see when you start a battle. It's nothing unfixable; it's just really weird and annoying. So, in conclusion, this game feels more like a very spartan (pun-intended) proof-of-concept for a strategy game than an actual strategy game. I wouldn't buy this game, unless you really, REALLY like strategy games where you fight for a generic hill with generic units in a generic way. 3/10
devs idea of ruthless is having no tutorial or explanation for anything
Love the visuals. The lowpoly landscape is crafted to simply and satisfyingly it really enhances the simple battle mechanics. The puddle reflections to the water's edge shaders really make this strategy game shine. The minimalistic strategy game loop leaves a lot to sink your teeth into!
нет очень базово, неудобно и медленно
WARNING! ADDICTIVE. You want to play...again...and again...and again.....
Vae Victis - is a minimalistic 3rd person strategy in which you will have to build your kingdoms and calculate your moves and the moves of the enemy, various factions, units and dynamic combat.
An interesting game that makes your brain work 200%. Definitely recommended.
Are you ready to fight your way to the top of the mountain? It's a battle for survival. The best man wins. Do you want to be the winner? You need patience; agility; quick reactions. + minimalistic + low-poly + turn-based strategy + great combat combinations + reasonable price 9\10 winners
