Time based roguelike heavily inspired by the original Resident Evil. I found the original version of this extremely hard. This one is also hard... when played with the classic fixed camera. The first person camera which wasn't in the old version makes the game way easier.
Nice especially co-op!
As much as I like the overall idea this game is presenting, unfortunately there's not much meat on these bones, especially considering the rogue-like approach. In something like two hours of playtime you end up seeing pretty much all this game has to offer, considerably diminishing its replay value, essential for a rogue-like title. Considering that this version is also an "enhanced" edition, with many additions from the original game, I can't imagine how barebones this must have been. interesting concept.
Fun, randomized classic Resident Evil -like game. Not perfectly polished, but does what it aims to do quite well.
Very underpolished but charming tribute to Resident Evil. I like it but it still needs a lot added to feel like it's worth even what it's going on sale for. Might refund it, I'm not sure. Still want to leave a positive review, since there's clearly a lot of love that went it it.
A Resident Evil with random level generation sounds like a brilliant idea, however the way it's executed here fails to capture intricate design and meaningful backtracking found in RE. Every generation is 3 or 4 linear paths that never connect back to a different path, meaning you backtrack down the same long hallway again every time. The rooms and hallways also repeat and aren't unique making the exploration feel repetitive and just feels bad overall. This is probably due to recreating the look of the pre-rendered backgrounds (which is done quite well), however it hurts the variety the game could have had. I will say the controls are fast and responsive, much more than PS1 RE. A great attempt at an even greater idea but honestly doesn't compare to RE or any other survival horror title.
Thank you for actually making a splitscreen horror co-op as it was literally the only one I could find. My brother has weak internet but we where still able to play through the play together feature. I just wanted to say how this is a really good tribute to PS1 era gaming and it really did play and look like Resident Evil 1. Strangely, the fully 3D graphics backgrounds looked 2D and the models had the perfect low poly look to them. The tank controls are about at tanky as they where in the old days. Voice acting is really bad as it should be. My brother and I ultimately preferred the 1st person mode as it made it easier to find object but also escape the monster in the final scene. My brother and would take turns guiding each other on the map to make sure we got to other side. I feel some the RNG worked against us as keys we needed where sometime not possible to find with some doors unopenable. The gradually tighter timing making it harder to explore to find the items we needed. The furthest we where able to get was 4 runs in. I would like to see a version of this game that is actually like Resident Evil more and still allowed for splitscreen co-op. Playing Resident Evil as a rouge like didn't have the long term appeal for us beyond the 6 hours we played of it. If it was a full blown game with a massive narrative to it then it would be fun to play at a 40 hour game. As a rougelike, it does have good difficulty and feature scaling to make the game more comfortable to play based on your tastes Overall, I would say this a good game and a good tribute. Those of use in our 30's, 40's, and 50's can appreciate it while the young bunch will complain that the game looks, sounds, and plays like crap.
Resident Evil roguelike La verdad nunca pensé que esta combinación se vería demasiado bien y una pena que este juego es poco reconocido, la verdad merece mas cariño y mas por el precio cuando esta en oferta
