Reviews
Great game with excellent pacing and satisfying progression. The world feels massive and alive, packed with a wide variety of biomes and themes that make exploration genuinely engaging. I played before the weapons update, and even back then the variety supported many different playstyles. The ability system expanded those options even further. Boss fights never felt repetitive—each one brought something fresh. And the top-down perspective paired with WASD controls just feels fantastic. Huge props to the devs!

VERY Grindy BUT fun 7.9/10
I really wanted to enjoy V Rising because the game itself has a lot going for it. The visuals, combat, progression, and survival mechanics are all excellent. Unfortunately, the controller implementation completely overshadowed those strengths for me. My biggest issue is the camera controls. The default controller scheme requires continuously holding L2 to freely rotate the camera. I don't mind isometric games at all, I actually enjoy them, but this is one of the most uncomfortable controller schemes I've experienced. Constantly holding a trigger while moving, fighting, dodging, and managing abilities quickly became frustrating and unnecessarily fatiguing. Before deciding to leave this review, I spent a good amount of time trying to solve the problem with Steam Input. I tested custom configurations and community layouts, expecting to remap the controls into something that felt more natural. None of them achieved the result I was looking for. From my experience, the game's controller implementation limits what Steam Input can do with the camera controls, leaving the default behavior essentially unchanged. This isn't a complaint from someone who gave up after a few minutes. I genuinely wanted to make the game work on controller and invested the time trying to fix what I considered its biggest flaw. Unfortunately, after exhausting every solution I could find, I came to the conclusion that this is simply how the controller support is designed. For me, the camera controls were a major drawback that prevented me from enjoying an otherwise excellent game. If the developers ever add native options for more conventional camera controls or allow greater customization, I'd gladly revisit my recommendation. Until then, I can't recommend V Rising based on my experience as a controller first player.
Worth every euro. The day time is a gimic and if you are starting, whenever you create your server, just remove daytime or lower as much as possible. It has no value and nothing is attached to it, it just slows you down as part of the lore. Crafting feels impactful and there are a ton of Quality of life stuff. From faster movement to mercs working for you to gather resources. My first playthrough was on brutal. Bosses and gear felt very rewarding. Managed to kill Dracula after a bunch of trying.
Good game.
