One of the worst hidden object games I have ever played in my life. Not because it is another pay to win mobile game, but because whoever made this game is so bad at English. English is my 4th language, I don't belittle anyone who makes mistakes (in any language), but, but, but if you make a game in English, ESPECIALLY a hidden object game where your only clue is the word itself that you have to imagine it in your head, then by all means you CAN'T make any mistakes. I only played 1 level 3 times, and already got 2 words wrong: flour pillow and hand broom. TF is flour pillow? It is just a pillow, or do you fill it with flour? Then it is just a bag, you don't and shouldn't sleep on flour pillow. But there is already a flour bag in that level. Also, why hand broom is just a little brush? When you say hand broom, a person imagines a broom, long wooden thing with bushy tip, no? Since it is "hand" broom, then it should have the same characteristics, but a little smaller/shorter, right? But no, it is just a brush. Just call it a fricking brush then, so we don't waste already little time you gave us, mochi mochi.

Uptasia is far from enjoyable or an average sim game because the tutorial doesn't provide enough information for a newcomer to learn. The game goes considerably slowly to the point that discourages me to continue playing. Noticeably, the waiting time for producing a single unit of flour is 10 minutes at the beginning period. That means you CANNOT earn enough money by satisfying the customers' demands to buy things or upgrade buildings or anything else easily or in time. Disturbing and blocking objects, like tree and rocks, suddenly grow in the map and limit the space for you to build. Moreover, the graphic display is distasteful.
there needs to be a 50/50 option for reviews. it's not a bad game. it's just buggy and it's incredibly hard to earn resources if you're impatient and don't want to spend money on microtransactions, but I guess that is the nature of these kinds of games. i neither recommend nor not-recommend, it's just a visually cute way to spend 5-10 minutes at a time on. only putting 'not recommended' due to the amount of times it has crashed - maybe that will be rectified in the future and i can change to 'recommended'.. :)
I thought this would be a relaxing game but the time given to find the objects is just 90 seconds, which is quite a pressure, considering the nature of the puzzles. Unless you pay, it takes an eternity to progress. Multiple and complicated currencies (coins, gems, shards, etc.). They only exist to trick players into spending uncontrollably, as the game economy is completely unbalanced to begin with. If your language is not on the list of available languages, also you will struggle to find hidden objects with uncommon names. Not worth of your time, since the cooldown for 5 puzzles at a time is terrible. The hidden objects can be in very different locations and different sizes every time. If you are fed up playing the same puzzle photo, you need to add a new building that unlocks the relevant theme and each building requires you to level up or pay real money to buy gems to unlock it. The game keeps freezing and crashing mainly after either solving a few puzzles and attempting to visit neighbours or after visiting neighbours and then attempting to play puzzles. The second case is worse because the game crashes before finishing the puzzle, you immediately lose one chance to play and all points you may have earned for that try. The pictures with the differences can become hectic, it seems that they are bugged. The game may show that there is one more difference to find and there is none. I repeatedly took screenshots of the pictures to compare them further afterwards in multiple ways and that last difference did not exist. In order to max out a building you need about 4.5million points which is insane, given the fact that each game gives no more than 4k points on lower building levels and maximum 10k for building level 4 to level 5. This is too much of a demand considering the amount of buildings that exist which are necessary to produce goods for NPC customers and also considering the amount of crashes of the game itself and the lost points. Neighbours on very high player level, who have ridiculously overloaded their world with animated decorations, are difficult to visit due to the amount of game crashes even after a restart. This is not even the type of game worthy of a PC upgrade. Occasionally I leave it running while I'm doing other stuff in the house so my actual gaming hours are barely 1/25th of whatever is shown on my profile. I edited my review to add further information.
crap.
Edit after about 1.5 years in the game and at level 50: As the game progresses, the hidden object games one must play to level a building gets effectively tedious. Even playing a bit in the morning and then in the evening when the timers are shorter it takes 2 or more weeks on a single building to get from level 4-5. AS for my time played - look at it. You're right, I'm not actually playing the game that much. Who could? Herein lies my biggest gripe: collecting resources. I generally collect one or two sets of resources a day. They renew every 6 hours. It currently involves literally 3 hours per collection. So I am AFK ALOT. Sometimes I choose my 15 resources (gets me about 225 wood at a time, so it's not minor) and: go to work for 8 hours, go to the store, mow the lawn, go to sleep, cook and eat dinner with the family, watch a movie - you get the picture. In fact, I've almost quit the game dozens of times just because of the resources. My recent solution is to decide not to care and just pop in each evening, do some HO's, collect from my factories, and get whatever resources I can before I log off. I won't be playing much longer, I suspect, and I have paid for a total of 18 months premium account thus far. In my opinion, the devs really need to rethink resources and their collection specifically, because it has completely turned me off the game. For what it's worth early on, I'll leave my "recommended," assessment, but it is a very weak one at this point. Have fun in it while you can if you like city building, HO, and just want to goof off a bit here and there. If you want to truly get into a game, unless you really like tedium, choose a builder that is complete at initial purchase and doesn't involve a continuous money sink to fully experience it. Old review: For what it is (a free-to-play hidden object/builder) it's a decent game. I've enjoyed my time in it. The quests are a fun diversion and it's easy to minimize it and go back as I'm doing other things on the computer. I also like the ability to recruit neighbors, as I tend to focus on single player games and thus have a limited Steam friends supply. The biggest negative is the extensive hidden-object-finding games one must play to upgrade a building. I also am not a fan of "find the difference" and would love it if we could choose what types of games we play in the villa.
