I really like VN and this one was really nice stumbled over it bc of the women days sale. Played the demo first and decided to buy it before finishing the demo the gore is really well described and written, i love the art and the feeling that decisions in fact matter It was short but really nice only thing bothering me is the fact that the achievements don't unlock :( for someone like me who kinda is an achievement hunter this is an important thing but besides that it's awesome and i really had fun discover all the endings and illustrations, the skip function i really nice! the additional content was very nice too but I liked the main game better

Fantastic VN- for a quick reader, you can get through all the endings in a couple of hours, but the plot and characters certainly live inside my head rent-free on occasion even months later. The main character is complex and the gradual unfurling of his past trauma is almost as unsettling as the actual events unfolding in the game. All the endings are distinct and well-written [spoiler]...and seriously, reading the description of one of ending achievements after actually experiencing the ending itself made me groan. Painful irony, I love it.[/spoiler] Basically if you want a spooky game dealing with trauma and Bad Happenings, Up All Night is excellent- just be mindful of the warnings if you're sensitive that kind of material.

The art style is beautiful underneath the red blotches. The characters were interesting, relatable, and I enjoy their interactions with each other. The dialogue really comes through. The main character, Nick, goes through serious PTSD and, while it does deviate from the norm as the story goes on, it showcases the struggles he goes through, making better than some other PTSD depictions. While the allusion to the unusual was well hidden, the question of who's the real monster is well maintain throughout the whole story. Beware, the choices do matter, no matter how insignificant it might be. 9/10

I had so much fun with my first playthrough and I'm really excited to keep playing and get some of the other endings. I love the artwork and the soundtrack is unsettling in the best way!!

Some things to note - overall this game is quite short, which is a shame because I would've liked to have spent more time with these characters, and secondly, it's one of those visual novels where you're often given choices and those choices determine the ending you get from eight possible options. This means that after you've ran through the game two or three times, it becomes a bit unobvious as to what choices you're supposed to make to see new content - so I ended up spending about 20 minutes of my playtime restarting the game, holding shift to skip text and trying different choices until I hit something I hadn't seen before. A flowchart or something would've gone along way, in my opinion, but I'm used to VNs being like this Outside of those negatives, I had a good time with this and again, just really wish there was more of it. The characters are fun, their dynamtic is great and the main character's trauma is presented both with respect and a lot of intrigue. The visuals and sound is pretty nice and written description of gore are pretty brutal! Also this isn't mentioned anywhere on the storepage but honestly some of the writing is implicitly kinky - I can't really say how, besides it being kinda master/sub vibes, and I absolutely lived for it tbh lmfao I don't know if the authors intended it to be read this way but god bless if they did Would recommend mostly if on sale, but I enjoyed my time with it

I think the best part is how simple it is to figure out whats *been* happening before the end, and it makes you let your guard down right before everything goes down right at the end where youre blindsided by the consequences of your seemingly innocuous actions
