A generational masterpiece. From the story and pixel art to the characters, everything was beautiful. A must-play. (We don't talk about the rhythm minigames.) Do yourself a favor and give it a try, at the very least. My only regret is not buying it at full price. I'm honored that this is my first true Platinum.
If you don't enjoy games with limited gameplay then this game probably isn't for you. For literally anybody else, I would 100% recommend it as it has one of the best stories I've seen in gaming and it has beautiful art and music as well. There were multiple times I cried during this game and I've only ever cried once during 1 other game. I also can't say I've related to any other game like I did with Until Then which is probably why it hit so hard and why I found it so inspiring. Until Then is easily one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had. However I'm only talking about act 1. Act 2 and 3 fell off significantly from act 1 in my opinion. I definitely still enjoyed them and they had some great moments but I'd rate act 1 at 10/10 and act 2 and 3 at around 6 or 7/10. The main reason for that is pretty simple,
I just don't enjoy the alternate realities. To be fair, It was done pretty well and it was hinted at from the start but no matter how good alternate realities stuff is written, I can never get into it or even understand it. That is more of a personal issue though, not everybody hates those types of storylines. However, I also enjoyed the small scale of the first act and It had a very nice ending with Cathy's tape so the game not actually ending there soured that ending a little (and act 1 in general).
That one scene with the emails actually made me break. Amazing game one of my all time favs.

absolute ''ho-ho''
Some games are just games. You play them, you enjoy them, and then you move on. But sometimes, a game stays with you. A game that makes you think about it hours after you stopped playing. Until Then is one of those games. At first, I thought I was just going to play a simple coming-of-age story. Friends, school, funny moments, everyday life... but slowly, without even noticing it, I started caring about these characters way more than I expected. And that's what makes this game special. The characters don't feel like NPCs. They feel alive. Their happiness made me smile, their struggles actually hurt, and the little moments between them became some of the best parts of the experience. The writing in this game is just incredible. It talks about friendship, family, love, grief, and the fear of losing the people who matter to you. It doesn't force you to cry. It just makes you care so much that when something happens... YOU FEEL IT. The pixel art is beautiful, the soundtrack is amazing, and the atmosphere is something I will never forget. There were moments where I was just sitting there, listening to the music, thinking about everything that happened. This game made me laugh. It made me smile. It made me feel warm inside. And then it completely destroyed me. I finished this game with a weird feeling. I was sad, but also happy. Empty, but also grateful. Not many games can make you feel emotions that contradict each other at the same time. Until Then reminded me why I love stories. Not because they always give you the perfect ending, but because they make you feel something. They remind you of the people you love, the memories you have, and how important small moments can be. AND THAT'S WHY THIS GAME IS SPECIAL. Some stories end when the credits roll. This one doesn't. Thank you, Polychroma Games, for making me laugh, cry, and feel alive. I'll carry this story with me... Until then... 10/10 ❤️
Absolute Cinema When i first saw this game i said meh maybe mid but holly molly this is a masterpiece with a really deep story. Just dont look up for anything and finish the game for the first time and then the tears come with it. What can i say this is an inevitable sadness. Definitely play this game it this game is worth every penny.
