i bought the game for some fun kaizo stuff, it instead changed my perspective on life

Very cool little indie game. Decently challenging precision platforming reminiscent of Mario World kaizo romhacks. With music that would fit right at home in an old school Mega Man game. Has a simple palette meant to evoke the GameBoy, with a few colors from the NES mixed in. It is quite short, I was able to beat it in under an hour, and anyone with some Mario kaizo experience won't find it all that challenging. But I still enjoyed it quite a lot.

Hoy fui a la festigame y estaban presentando esta joya de juego estaba la persona de desarrollo y me invitó a jugar debo decir que no te arrepentiras si lo compras, no es un juego largo pero cada nivel se hace mas dificil, es un verdadero desafio interesante, agradezco mucho haber ido al evento por que ademas que lo terminé allá mismo lo compré en seguida, hay que apoyar proyectos como este, espero con ansias que saquen un juego similar a este en un futuro y que decir de la musica es espectacular!!!!! Si sacan una version fisica claramente lo compraré sin dudarlo o si sale en cualquier otra plataforma... funciona de principio a fin en steam deck, solo debes lanzarlo en compatibildad experimental, cambia el orden de los botones X-Y POR A-X y te funcionará al 100% Sin nada mas que decir este es el mejor pais de chile!!!!!! Xd

Un juego con un gameplay desafiante y contagioso que provoca ganas de seguir intentando los niveles con un diseño que recuerda a los juegos de GameBoy. Una muy buena experiencia de juego

The game is pretty short to beat, though provides good value for the price. How good/bad you are at kaizo will determine how long it takes, however. It took me personally 1.5hr to beat the base campaign on normal difficulty, though it never got to the point where it became frustrating or upsetting. One complaint is about the [spoiler]boss fight. The hands' hitboxes are really weird and lead to a lot of unfair feeling deaths. Again, it only took 20 minutes to beat the boss, so not a major complaint.[/spoiler] Another thing to mention is that needing to jump with X and Y on controller (or Z and X for keyboard) is a little weird to get used to, but I was able to beat the normal mode fine enough like that. Also encountered a weird bug where the game stopped counting my deaths after 18? Though, even if you don't like the gameplay, the music and visuals were the main draws for me and really made it worth seeing through to the end. In all, i give Unlinked mask an 8/10.
