Unforgettable You

No hay mucho que salve al juego más allá que cada nivel intente ser experimental. Lastima que estos niveles sean extremadamente cortos de no más de 5 minutos. Si hubieran creado un nivel que aglomere esta mecánica en subniveles hubiera sido más entretenido y no hubiera afectado a la narración. La historia es...ingenua. Intenta ser profunda sobre el amor eterno cuando alguien desaparece pero la forma de narrarlo es exageradamente superficial. En teoría está relacionado con el ambiente del nivel (habla sobre musica: nivel de instrumentos; habla sobre muerte: fondo morado o azul que indica tristeza) pero no evita que lo que escuchas/lees son palabras vacias. Y sí, eso incluye que tienes un protagonista especialmente tóxico y obsesionado con el "amor de su vida" camuflado con romanticismo. Finalmente, la mecánica del juego es especial. Los puzzles son muy sencillos. Los saltos son terribles debido a que ciertas plataformas no son constantes en su hitbox: a veces puedes traspasarlas y caer, otras veces puedes apoyarte en ellas sin tocarlas. Y los corazones que debes de recoger...Hay al menos dos problematicos debido al diseño del nivel: 1) La mecánica de nivel es que si sales a los lados puedes aparecer en el contrario pero por razones desconocidas el corazón se encuentra justo en el medio de esta transición haciendo casi imposible que aparezca y se considere coleccionable. 2) La mecánica es que diferentes partes del nivel te caminar en la parte superior, boca abajo, o inferior pero el ultimo corazón se encuentra justo pasado el punto de salida de nivel. Tienes que hacer un salto tan preciso de tal forma que toque militricamente la zona que te cambia de dirección y no toques el punto de fin de nivel. Podía haber sido bueno a pesar de su simplicidad pero le mata la propia forma de narrar y sus mecánicas.

Хорошая игра в которую можно поиграть в свободный меланхоличный вечер. С точки зрения игровой механики игра приятная и старается на каждом уровне привнести в прохождение что то новое! С точки зрения сюжета... [spoiler]Мне показалось что парень слишком бесхребетный и спутал любовь с поклонением. Единственный сильный вопрос который остался у меня после прохождения игры, как бы я отнёсся к такому вечному игровому посланию от своего бывшего партнёра... Терзало бы это мою душу? Забыл бы я о нём через месяц-2? Радовало бы оно меня? Надеюсь что на практике я ответа на этот вопрос не обрету...[/spoiler]

Unforgettable You is a simple love story walking simulator with platformer elements told using limited color and silhouettes. The story does tend to drag over the 21 chapters which isn't helped by some of the glitchy jumping and timing-based elements that can make for a lot of unnecessary repetition. 3/10

It is not easy to write a negative review for a free game, especially one I truly wanted to enjoy. However, the experience left me disappointed. When looking at the story with a clear and objective mind, it becomes obvious that it portrays an unhealthy and toxic relationship. This kind of dynamic is difficult to relate to and does not allow for any meaningful emotional connection. The visual presentation was pleasant, and the format had potential. Unfortunately, the story felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable. It leaned heavily on outdated stereotypes about relationships. In the present day, we understand what healthy relationships look like. I do not appreciate when any form of art tries to normalize toxicity and present it as love. That is simply not the case. We should be encouraging people to remain true to themselves, even when they are in relationships. Because of these issues, I can only give the game one star. If the goal is to move people through storytelling in games or art, the emotions presented must be honest and authentic. Disguising pain or dysfunction as romance only creates confusion and misguides the audience.
