Unfortunately I cannot recommend at this point. I really want this game to succeed but the visuals alone are enough for me to hold off. In my opinion some very simple things can be done to greatly improve the presentation. 1. Texel density. Im sure the developers know what this is, if not please look it up and make some changes. The resolution of textures is so mismatched. 2. Ditch the 3d model mode, focus on the top down 2d view and see point 1. 3. UI/UX I'm rooting for this game, really hope to see some changes!
I'm so disappointed with this game. A friend and I bought this as an alternative to playing the game on Tabletop Simulator, but there are several issues with it. To caveat - the tabletop physical game of Undaunted: Normandy is brilliant, and this game *technically* translates it into a playable single player and multiplayer (with caveats - see below) experience. So if that's all you want (I thought it was all I wanted) then I guess you should buy it, but even at that level it's hard to recommend over a copy of Tabletop Simulator and a workshop mod. - The game looks poor. Textures are very crude and the 3D elements are incredibly basic. Switching to the classic board game view it still somehow looks almost as bad as scanned artwork on TTS. - Considering just how basic the graphics are, the performance is horrendous too. I have an RTX 3080 and the game seems to just have a very choppy frame rate. Options to lock it to 60 or 120fps seem to do nothing - The ONLY option for multiplayer is an asynchronous play by cloud style game. This is probably the most baffling development choice in the whole thing. An async mode would be a GREAT addition on top of live multiplayer - but as the only option it's just bizarre. This is replicating a tabletop board game. Some actions that can take mere seconds between two players in reality (i.e. drawing for initiative) require players to log in and log out multiple times. It suggests a real lack of capability on the part of the developers that this is the only option for multiplayer. - The game is riddled with spelling errors - on text that is copy pasted directly from the scenario book of the board game! Did the devs not even get assets from Osprey Games? All in all an incredibly disappointing product. I'm keeping my copy in the hopes it improves but I don't hold out much hope as it's taken a long time to even get to this state. Oh well - back to Tabletop Simulator for us.

This game just looks...ugly. the cards aren't that bad but the game board is really hard to read and has almost no aesthetics. I hope that future updates has changed this but for now the game is really unpleasant to look at
This honestly has a lot of potential. But it seems basically abandoned. Unless something new comes out, don't buy it. It could be good, but I don't think they're ever going to finish it. They certainly aren't updating the community on what is happening. I love Early Access when there is communication, this is an example of when it fails.
Initial impressions For the Alpha version, still before Early Access, the application is in really great condition. It is fully playable; AI is being trained via Machine Learning calculations for optimal moves; the Graphics, User Interfaces, Options and Menu are ready from usability perspective. Sure, there will be more work on graphics and small bugs, but I am positively surprised how far the game went after such a short time. What I also like, is that we do not get one to one product from digital version but and enhanced game, with so many additional options: two more scenarios, possibility to play individual skirmishes or campaign, three different levels of AI difficulty, cross platform multiplayer both in PBEM and hot-seat modes and many more. Own the physical version, instantly bought when I saw in this digital form. Also want to sent support to the small dev. — done quite a great job! There are a few parts that need to be improved, but dev. listened to feedback well~ so that's a very good thing.
Terribly done game. Game play freezes constantly and have to just hard quit the game and start over. Looks like the company website is not even in existence. I paid for this game and after 11 hours of game play, it froze about half dozen times and lost all progress. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
I've played through all 12 of the main scenarios and the US mortar has never spawned in the proper tile, which often prevents it from being able to target key tiles it should be able to. Pretty huge bug which is really disappointing. The AI is also really bad, but that's not as big of a deal for me. The 3D mode is really ugly and I think having it on by default is a questionable choice, but there's an option to always use 2D so it's fine. It'll be a full recommend once it plays properly
As someone who loves the board game and hopes we get more Undaunted in digital space I can't recommend this game. As someone who plays only single player I can't comment on multiplayer functionality, but in SP I haven't encountered that many bugs, but there are still some glitches here and there. The thing that bugs me though is that it feels to me that the developer obtainted the license for the game so that they can practice their 3D modelling skills and their machine learning skills. And boy do they need practice cause 3D is ugly as hell, and AI needs A LOT of work. If this game just had a classic 2D look with nice looking and functional UI I would give a positive review, but the game looks horrendeous, with badly rendered terrain, with counters that look like they've been cut out by a child, with cards that are in different resolution than other graphic elements, with UI that looks like it was programmed in BASIC or FORTRAN. And even though many people in the community are pleading the developer to focus on graphic part of the game the only updates, which are coming with less frequency, are about machine learning mumbo-jumbo. Too bad, cause this is a great game and I hope Osprey Games will find another developer for Undaunted North Africa, Stalingrad, Battle For Britain and Callisto. All of those games deserve to be published by competent people.
When you charge 16EUR for an alpha or beta, I don't feel to bad to give my honest opinion. So here you have it. Obviously, it comes with a ton of bugs. Bot doesn't do its actions after initiative fase, trophies are mostly broken, and I'm not sure the tutorial should have been completed or not, but you cannot continue after the 5th or 6th step. Completely broken. Also, it just has a wall of text and 0 pictures. So you read a load of text on how you should read a game card or tile without actually showing one. Weird... Then you have the graphics. I think enough has been said already about this topic. It's bad. Very bad. All in all the summary is this; A game that is about as sexy as an Excel spreadsheet that should be doing better than a certain tabletop simulator mod but fails to do so.
