About
You know, when you explain an idea, the idea fundamentally changes.
UNBEATABLE is an anime-juiced rhythm adventure where you (figuratively) destroy on stage while you (literally) destroy on stage. During rhythm gameplay, you only need two buttons: a button for up and a button for down. Simple to understand! The complicated part is doing it. Try not to get destroyed yourself.
Half the game is walking around and taking things at your own pace. The other half is trying to keep up with ours.
The pink-haired girl is Beat, and she is you, and you have a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere, and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason. Though it doesn't help your case that you keep making friends with people that the cops are mad at for slightly better reasons. But what do I know?
Talk to people, help them out (or don't, I'm not your mom!), play huge concerts, and punch cops. And then run away from the cops you punched. Also there are monsters or something. Not sure what's going on there?!?!
All of this culminates in massive setpieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here. It'll get you through it.
*if this was 1999 this section would be called "talk the talk and rock the rock"
UNBEATABLE's full arcade mode is an entire game by itself with its own progression system and a full online component. There's modifiers, tons of songs (with more to come!) and a whole challenge board to beat, with things to do that range from as simple as "beat a song on easy mode" to, one may presume, something as complicated as "solve an ancient riddle while skateboarding." That's not a real example.
**if this was 1999 this section would be called "party like it's now"
FEATURES:
Story Mode: 6-8 hours. Arcade Mode: UNLIMITED
Characters that hate you!
Maybe also some that don't!
The arcade mode has a cute little profile you can customize and unlock stuff for and I think that's pretty neat
Graphics! We'd describe them but I mean it's right there, you can see it
A whole entire double album worth of original songs
plus acoustic versions of those songs
oh and also remixes, too
You can unlock all the songs by playing the narrative OR just by playing the arcade game exclusively! Great for those who truly hate stories
Something (in this game) will make you feel something (in real life)!
It's anime
If you think about it, QTEs are basically just rhythm games with no music
Please, whatever you do, the title is either all caps or no caps. Be kind to us.
And the idea changes you in return.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I thought it would be a cool rhythm game, like YunYun, but the gameplay sequences are very sparse, short, and simple even on expert difficulty. The story starts out interesting, but then becomes boring and artificially incomprehensible.
Unbeatable is a bizarre experience, and not in a good way. It feels like it wasn't meant to be experienced by people who weren't part of the development team.
Story is inconsistent in both its pacing and the logic behind its events. I've played for six hours and i'm genuinely at a loss as to why people in this game do the things they do. It's like listening to your friends talk about something after joining the conversation too late. You spend a while just trying to figure out what the hell they're talking about. It feels like the development team just didn't feel like giving players the context needed to understand and dive in their world. Core gameplay is alright. Although i'm not a fan of this genre, it kept me entertained. The problem is that it's really buggy. Bugs keep showing up in all kinds of ways: sometimes a music track starts with incorrect timing, forcing you to lose just to reset it, sometimes the collision works like ♥♥♥♥, sometimes the camera shows crazy angles that are obviously not intended or characters just floating in the air for no reason. I probably wouldn't be so irritated by them if this game had just come out, but it hasn't. It's been like this for seven months or so. Unbeatable has the feel of a gamejam project in many aspects, like developers just didn't have enough time to polish it. Tutorial especially gives off that impression. Just like with the story, you're expected to figure out each minigame's controls on your own. It's not difficult or even particularly time-consuming, but it feels like nobody cared about the player's experience.

I would've dropped Unbeatable within the first few hours if this incomprehensible mess were all it had to offer. The developers' artistic vision is astonishing. The game looks and sounds incredible, expensive and unique. Characters are always bursting with visual charisma, action scenes are flashy and small, quiet moments are beautifully drawn. And that's what confuses me the most. Why are the other aspects of the game so different?
This is quite possibly one of the worst attempts at a game I've ever played. The tags claim it is a rhythm game but it's really a very ♥♥♥♥♥♥ walking simulator that has a poorly designed rhythm section haphazardly stapled to the side. I played for an hour and didn't naturally encounter any rhythm game sections at all. The story might be good but in the hour I spent with it nothing was worth sticking around for. Any time a game says "I don't have time to explain" my response is "Then I don't have time for your game." I did try out the arcade but there's too much visual clutter to get any sense of flow going. This is one of those games you know got made entirely in a bubble because if anyone on the dev team had shown this to someone outside said team they'd have already heard all of this. Lastly, I can't comment of the soundtrack because the game never showed it to me. "Do you recommend this game?" There needs to be a more negative response than No because that's how this game makes me feel. Maybe like a "Not even if I was paid to."
two hours in: this is the most stunning game i've ever played presentation-wise and i was absolutely blown away by how the game simply opens, but oh my god, please, PLEASE for the love of god have a better tutorial. i thought the "QUIT" button when you pause in story mode was quitting the entire game, so obviously i didn't click it. of course, the actual settings aren't in the story mode menu, which was a big detriment, as when the first actual rhythm gameplay started my entire game froze for a solid 5 seconds and i was deeply confused. this review is going out as a plea to the developers to make your tutorials and settings more streamlined. any other low-end computer players like myself will greatly appreciate it
Game softlocked before I could actually play the rhythm game. I don't care about this story and I don't even directly know how the important part feels to play, the music game. Please let me skip this story and just play the music game.
