Ultrawings FLAT

I love this game. I also loved Pilotwings 64. This has kept all the best bits of that game and added much, much more. The planes and islands look lovely. Plenty of detail to catch the eye when soaring around them - dams, lighthouses, churches, monuments, bridges, etc. The missions are great. Take off, fly through hoops, race, pop balloons, take photos, and land. With points and cash awarded on how fast or accurately you complete them. More cash unlocks more planes and islands. I also like the game hub where you have to fly to each island and land there to take on the missions of that island. Again back to the N64 - Diddy Kong Racing did a similar thing. I thoroughly recommend this game. However! The controls are currently a mess, though the dev is quick to respond through the discussions board. I use an Xbox 360 controller and have had to manually re-code and mod the game to make the controls work properly. Other people seem to be struggling too with various controllers. The other downside, I have to be careful here as I write video game soundtracks for a living! The music is awful! Clearly bought off the peg. Doesn't fit the game at all and a game like Pilotwings 64 had a great soundtrack. Luckily there is a volume control! I'll probably write my own soundtrack and mod that too! That said, this is a beautiful game and I simply love it though it is not perfect which is such a shame as it does so many things well.

Das Spiel ist eine Katastrophe. Die Steuerung funktioniert unverlässlich. Manchmal lässt isch mit der Maus die Kamera gar nicht bewegen. Erst nach mehrmaligem Neustart. Dann Funktioniert die Maus nur einmal zum Motorstart, danach gar nicht mehr. Hier wäre eine Anleitung für die Steuerung sehr hilfreich. Im Web habe ich auch keine direkte Hilfe zu diesem Problem gefunden. Habe es auch einmal mit dem Hotas 4 von Thrustmaster probiert. Da funktioniert der Schubregler nicht. Das Spiel ist für mich aktuell unspielbar.

Loved the VR version but I have had the same issue as other users with the flat one - can't even get it to start as the controls are borked. Just stuck on that first select screen and I'm unable to do anything.

It's pretty good. Came with my VR Ultrawings which should be named to Vomitwings. The non VR is very good and where I'm dumping a lot of time into. It's such a relaxing experience and the challenges are not too hard. I definitely recommend for a relaxing time.

Although I just started a few minutes ago, for its price, it is a good flight simulator. although outdated and mostly disliked, I find it to be a little less fun than the VR version, although it is more challenging.

Oh wow, the lack of remap and controller support is beyond me. I used to play this game on VR and its okay, but playing this with proper controllers without VR was what I really wanted. I bought it, downloaded it, started it and was godsmacked when finding out I couldnt remap ingame. Well okay so I tried remaping outside of game and was blown away how a game made after the 80s still dont have the support or implementation of this. I could only play this with WASD shift and ctrl. My profession is computer tech and I do web dev, ui/ux and coding in my spare time for the last 19 years and I was still not able to figure out what goes where in this endless folder file archive labyrinth in this game's structure. This might look like a good game and they are working on another one allready and I can surely tell you all I will not buy that after discovering this. I would really advise everyone to not buy into this if you plan on playing with anything else than simple key buttons. I really did like Ultrawings for what I thought it was, now I am just really dissapointed. So I guess this will be a refund because no saitek x52 pro support.

ちょっとした遊覧飛行がしたいなと思ったので本ゲームを購入してみた。 実際にプレイすると期待以上に飛行機らしい操縦が出来て満足している。 こういったカジュアルな飛行機のゲームでフラップを使った揚力発生を再現しているのはとても珍しく、カジュアルでありつつしっかり航空力学が学べる点もいい。 ただやはり問題なのは島めぐりをするのにマップが存在しない事だ、このゲームは「Ultrawings 2」という続編というかグラフィック向上版がVRのみ出ているがそちらも見たところマップが存在しない。自由飛行の時はタブレットにGPSでもつけて欲しいものだ。 また全体的に島の数や飛行機の数が少ないので色々なミッションは有っても景色が変わらないのでボリュームに欠ける。 また台詞に字幕翻訳が無いのでボイスキャラクターたちがどんな会話をしているのかが楽しめないのも残念な所だ。 色々残念な所は多いがレジャー飛行や遊覧飛行をするにはこの程度でも問題は無いしローポリ好きにはいいかもしれない。 VR機器を持っていないのでUltrawings 2にもゲームパッド版のFLAT が出る事を期待する。

Plays great! Runs well even on potato hardware (Surface Pro 2 runs game @ 1024x768 on fastest very nicely!)

this game is pretty awesome you can fly whatever you want but you can fly everything and no restrictions or whatever ...pretty darn good!!!!
