The best Pro Football Manager sim out there. A great balance between intuitive playability and being detail-oriented. Whether you're casual or hardcore, this feels like a step up from Front Office Football.
Doesn't let me call individual plays during an actual game.
My favorite football sim so far!

Fun to play,
It's ok 7 out of 10...I've play worse games. There is a new mode where you can play 25 seasons from scratch, rebuilding a team and then your results are compared against others around the world. I ain't tried that mode yet but I think I will for the challenge.
This truly is a Franchise building game, while you can call plays and influence each game the graphics are poor compared to something like madden. On top of that the game crashes sometimes when starting a new season which can be frustrating when your 10 years in and starting to build a really good team. So why have I recommended this ? Well it's about looking at your teams weakness and trading to strengthen about the Draft and trying again the next season. The graphics might not be top notch but the gameplay is strangely satisfying. Hopefully the developers will intime resolve the crashing issue because this is actually a good game
Depending on what you expect, this is a really good game - and I can say for myself, it is really addicting. Since weeks, I have been spending nearly every minute of spare time on it. I still hope the designers can add some more depth and smarter AI to keep the thrill.
PLAYERS ROLE
You act as GM/HC of a American Football Franchise, using draft and trades to improve your roster and make it to play-offs and championships.
DATABASE
Default are some made-up team names but there is a community file with real NFL teams, colors and badges (player names stay random though) that you can easily import and enjoy. You are also able to customize your own league and upload it for others. Did not try so far, but looks fun. You can choose from three difficulty levels and your starting conditions (complete rebuild up to great team). Player and coach/staff database is random, players have their age, position, a skill level (ranging 50-100 plus boosts; best I saw was 110), ~20 skill attributes like speed/strength etc. and a certain type of playing style. Depending on the skill of your DC/OC/ST a players skill can be boosted by up to 7/8 points when the players style matches the coaches style, so I always keep an eye on them all playing WestCoast, Option, Smashmouth, Zone Coverage, Man Coverage or whatever (total 6 Off Styles, 6 Def Styles, 3 ST Styles).
GAME PROCESS / ACTIONS & DECISIONS
Your season consists of a four weeks (basically rounds) off-season (Starting/Re-Signing week, Free Agency, Draft, Training camp) and then you have 17 game weeks, 3 conference game weeks, "League Final" week (SB) and season end week, so basically 26 rounds per season. You can spend unlimited time in each week to e.g. - change your depth chart or scheme - hire coaches or staff - create offense plays (max. 50) - improve your facilities (levels 1-10, very linear) - scout college players (a certain number of scouting activities based on the level of your scouting office), - trade players and/or draft picks (unlimited number of trades) - renew contracts If your sponsor contract (money coming in) or gear supplier deal (money out for extra skill boost) runs out, you get one (!) sponsor offer and can (only) choose the contract length. Moving forward in your career you can earn "NP" (Negotiation points) by fulfilling tasks (e.g. win a game, win 10 games, win 100 games), that you can use on several occasions, e.g. - train staff/coaches - negotiate contracts (but not trades/sponsors/gears) - motivate your team (+3 skill for one game) - change the playing style of players or coaches (expensive) - reposition players (within their position group) or give traits to players etc. In the game weeks you can choose to sim the complete game (and simply get the final result and stats) or play the game yourself, which is actually calling offense plays and watching them in 2D. The 2D is pretty good from my point of view and calling the plays is fun and is thrilling. Playing them yourself, one game takes you about 4-7 minutes, I´d say.
PROS
+ Off-season takes pretty much the same time as the season itself and you can actually play a season in 45 minutes or less easily by simming. If you don´t get into much detail while roster-planning in off-season, you can probably play a season in 30 minutes easily, just simming and clicking through. + So, you can have decent long-term career as a head coach in a few hours of playing time which is great if you don´t like the micromanaging side of simulations and just want to follow a long-term plan. But: both of these upsides only work if you sim the games and you´ll massively improve your chances to win by playing the games yourself. I´d say, this at least doubles the number of points per game and having it simmed will turn out losing games that you´d easily win when played by yourself. You can win the league with a mediocre team and calling the right plays when you find out which of the plays work out 75% and which ones never gain yards.
CONS
- The game engine and AI are pretty simple and if you find about some tricks, you´ll master the game quickly, even on highest difficulty level. Doesn´t mean you´ll win the league in first season, but as you improve your team, you´ll get ahead of the other teams in about 7-10 seasons even starting highest difficulty. - I am missing filter and sorting options for my roster and the transfer activities - e.g. you can´t especially filter on attributes like speed or strength, catching or route running... - AI is not actively trading with you and has no variation to its game. - AI is too linear. In trading, they don´t look at what they really need, e.g. the player styles. You can basically trade them players that they have no need for and collect picks that you can pool to trade up in the draft.
CONCLUSION
Still - at least for me - the game somehow manages to stay exciting and thrilling. As the draft process is exciting and seeing your team improve, your franchise reputation and fan base growing it is fun to start with another franchise from bottom again and again. So, if you are looking for a fun game building up your franchise and create some legends, you are right here. If you are looking for deep management sim, this might be too shallow.
MY OVERALL RATING: 8/10
I well designed game with active developers still modifying details. It mostly puts you in the GM seat but allows for some direct head coaching as well. It's a fun game and challenging.
Tried it since developer said it was much changed from phone version, which has 3.7 rating on Google Play. Well, in a word, it's not. Yes, the micro-transactions are gone. But, it's still too much tedium and a clunky interface that has you clicking back and forth. In short, it's not fun. I asked for a refund.
