About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

Absolutely the most fun I've had playing a pvp game all year. Could use some polishing but incredible for a free game.
MUST READ: FIRSTLY... this is NOT a realistic tank game in any way shape or form, from the design conventions to the conceptual aspect of what tanks are used for and why modern day tanks are built the way they are. i.e. A real world heavy tank will probably be the hardest hitting armor in the game while also being the toughest thing to penetrate with attacks. Secondly, this game is like if Halo 3, and Ace Combat 6, had a tank baby, this is what you would get. This game is VERY well balanced in that aspect. They make their maps utilizing the same logic and design principals as Bungie did with their MLG maps. With careful surface travel in mind, measure and balance based on the tanks capabilities, to ensure equal metrics on both sides. ... This one fact alone, should be a MASSIVE selling point for a lot of old school gamers. While it is difficult at first to wrap your head around the strange limitations and design principals of each of the tanks- what with fact that this is for all intensive purposes a tank game- it covets tactics and methodical thinking at the fore front of your play style which does make it a traditional tank game and becomes very intuitive after a few matches. When I first found this game, the first thing I did is spend 4 hours in the sandbox learning and understanding the base mechanics and what they had actually achieved with this game. I took to the match-making like a duck to water. Now that I know that it would be crazy OP in this kind of game for a Heavy tank (with insane armor and health) to have the hardest hitting weapons in the game, I can enjoy the game a lot more now. Which is why I draw comparisons to Ace Combat 6 and Halo 3 and other old school gaming principals. Paper, Rock, Scissors, Lizard, Spock... Only you CAN beat paper as a rock, it's just REALLY difficult to do so, unless you carefully planned for it utilizing sound tactics just in like Ace Combat 5 and 6. Lastly, this game is something of a paradox in a lot of ways. It's super chill, yet, has an awesome semi-complexity to it's depth. It's mechanically sound, and very well balanced and put together... just a very well thought out game design with excellent replay value that keeps you coming back for more. Ultimately, now that they have a really great design selection of tanks with the balance between them all being where it's at... What will most likely make or break this game is the map selection. They need to triple the number of maps they have soon, while ensuring they are incredibly well thought out and just as detailed as their current ones are. They also should release these maps in groups of 3 at a time. This will help mitigate against certain difficulties as new groups of players join with their eyes on Ranked matches and making a clan. A lot of the existing clans and ranked groups know the current maps like the back of their hand. So hopefully the devs will recognize, that it's all about the maps now and customizations of existing tanks... at least for awhile that is. So... is the game fun? Absolutely. Can you play Solo? I do all the time, and have a blast. Enjoy the journey in this game, it's a fun one.

Really fun tank combat game. Great blend of arcade and realistic gameplay seen from other tank games. Does need some balancing, but the game just came out so they deserve a pass for that. Performance is great for me, though I do have a high end setup, only problem performance wise being some stuttering on certain maps namely Scorch. I think it might have to do with the number of bushes with maps with higher bush count=more stutter. Besides more tanks, maps, and overall more content my only request is upping the squad size from 3 -> 4 people. With team sizes being 8 it seems idiotic IMO to make the max squad size three instead of four. Let me play with more of my friends plz :) Current overall score: 8.25/10
Incredibly fun in-depth Tank shooter. As a newcomer to the genre I had an awesome time jamming team games and solo, My only complaint is that you can't play will a full stack
A very enjoyable little game that is rather easy to pick up and is possessing of a very concise and generally useful tutorial. Matches are quick and to the point somewhere in the range of as short as 3 minutes queue and all (very short don't charge in like that) to a more average 5-7 or even as long 10-12 again including tank select and queue times in a relatively populated area so this part may vary. There is a tank building/loadout element that I find quite fun and useful but not to the point that un-upgraded tanks are useless and if you don't wish to interact with this portion of the game at all you can absolutely just use the default build for each tank. Speaking of tanks I would say that at the moment they are generally well balanced although this is subject to change and also dependent on how much you and your team can work together. As of this moment there is no team chat or game chat to communicate your strategies and parties can only take up at most 3 out of the 8 players in the standard team size.
