Type King is a deceptively challenging game that combines typing skills with platforming mechanics in a way I've never seen done before. Don't be fooled by its educational appearance! This game is a hardcore test of patience and agility, especially in its unforgiving hard mode with slippery platforms and merciless timing. If you're up for a real test of your typing and gaming skills, then this game will push you to your limits. I'm a pretty good type so I flew through the regular typing mode in about 20 minutes. I then proceeded to spend a little over an hour never making it above the bottom 3 clouds on the platform/typing section. I am very bad at this lol
This game needs way more plays and reviews!! I got this game initially because I just love typing, so I thought this game would be perfect to play and also rage at. I started out with the typing levels then the jumping levels then the combo levels. I got so locked in once I did the jumping stages. To the point where I spent 1 hr trying to beat hard mode jumping. I loved it and will be coming back to defeat those levels.... Though I am not looking forward to the nightmare modes. I recommend this game especially if you like typing and want to test out your keyboard skills. The combo levels were definitely the most interesting and challenging especially because you'll have to multitask. Very interesting game mechanics and I loved reading about corruption during the typing levels. I'll be recommending this to more people!
This game is so annoying, but I can't bring myself to be annoyed at it. It's hard, especially the typing+jumping combo, but the game play is so satisfying it makes me want to keep going. The style and music are unique and sweet, really rare to see such polish. The different modes offer a variety of content and it is super satisfying to get better at the game. Highly recommend to anyone for a casual experience or to challenge yourself! I can't pass the hardest modes and would love to see someone try.
I didn't become the Jump King, but I was close enough
Hard, annoying and rewarding.
I needed help with my typing.. This game has helped me and the jumping feels very retro.
Play this if you want to rage. It's difficult and annoying and very well-made. I enjoyed it as much as I hate it lol.
I AM ONE WITH THE CLOUDS!!!! Actually super fun and tricky little game! It's got 4 solo player game modes and 1 multiplayer game mode each with 3 difficulties. Very satisfying to clear each difficulty for each mode (especially solo clearing the multiplayer mode on Easy and Normal ;) )! The developers are very chill and responsive to feedback so props to them!
Type King is a nostalgic combination of great fun and huge annoyance! Have had the honor to be part of this game's journey all the way from beginning, and closely followed it grow to it's glory. I'm a sucker for pixel graphics so I enjoy the appearance hugely, and musics of the game may calm you down while you are squirming in frustration (especially when trying to play the game modes on Hard). I have always thought that I'm quite a good typer, but Type King has brought me to my knees on many levels. Noticed that typing on left hand and managing jumping on right hand (Type King L) goes quite well, but writing on right and jumping with W-A-S-D was almost impossible. Somehow worked through the Easy mode on Type King R, so I really have some practising to do on that! And ofcourse after finishing Typing Only on Normal quite easily I got too cocky and thought that the Hard would go as smoothly. How wrong was I. But, you can always take a break from whacking your keyboard and just enjoy good ol' Jumping Only gamemode! Then again, the Hard difficulty can make your blood boil as well, keep that in mind! Multiplayer mode has turned out to be quite fun with my kid, me doing the typing and kid jumping. Have encouraged my kid to start practising his typing skills with this game, Typing mode on Easy is just perfect for that on it's difficulty level and storytelling. So overall, I enjoy this game, and think that there's some real benefit to your typing skills and getting some good exercise to both sides of your brain. And I'm quite positive that this game can breed a new improved generation of typers. Maybe even Type Kings! If you have some suggestions or comments regarding Type King, feel free to leave me comments! :)
