Two Till Midnight is a first person horror story game about a guy in a mansion, followed by a monster that is bound to the house. While you search for important items and what is going on, you constantly have to fear to get killed by "her" whom will wander around and react to the slightest noise you make. I was beta-testing this game so I'd say that I have quite the knowledge about the game and after around 30 hours I can say that I do really like the game. There are some points that I do not like about it, but I'll write everything in this review, the positive and the negative aspects. First about the positive things: The game is really great with atmosphere. It isn't dark, at least in most areas, but you get chills because of the narrow feeling of the mansion. And then there is also the unique mechanic that you loose your glasses if you bump into things, which not only makes you walk slower but also blurs your vision which can lead to your imminent death. The mansion also uses a physics system which allows the player to make noise when stumbling into boxes and other things that are laying around. The "monster" is also really great. You can't really predict where she is going, so you constantly have to either listen or look where she is going and then decide what to do. Also because of the procedural generation (its only rooms that are randomly locked or open and the item placement and the riddles) it is hard to know where you can hide or not if you haven't scouted the whole mansion yet. The riddles in this game are good, they need a bit of understanding (tbh I had problems in the beta, but I think it should be clear in the final release now) but they are intuitive and different from other games. The difficulty is hard, at least when you start, because you do not know what makes the monster come to you, and the running mechanic is a bit unusual and I'd say "slow" at times :) There are also 3 difficulties which you can choose from the main menu, which make you less loud or the mansion more messy and your movements louder. Also it takes a bit of time until you understand everything and figure out how the riddles and the monster works. It might take a few tries, but eventually you'll get it. And one final thing: The dev, George, is very nice and he listens to feedback and bug reports. So if you ever find a bug or have a problem you can contact him or write a steam post in the discussions and he'll help you out. Now to the negatives: The game always plays in the same mansion. When you play the game over and over you sometimes have problems keeping track which round you are playing now and where you kept items, which rooms where locked, etc. The game is not a game which you can replay a ton after you've beaten it. It might be interesting for some people (like me, especially for testing) but casual players will beat the game, maybe twice, and then won't know what to do else. Some minor bugs are still in the game, which can cause you to make noise whithout doing anything, which can lead to a death that is a bit unfair (I have to say its rare though). And one negative point would be the optimization. I can run the game pretty smoothly, but I've got a 1080Ti in my rig. If you do have a lower system you need to tweak the graphic settings a bit more, but the mansion hits pretty hard on performance, no matter the graphic settings. So you have to have a at least medium to high specs computer in order to run the game smoothly. Other than that it is a great game. I had fairly good spooks while playing and the feeling you get when you bump into something, loose your glasses and then only hear her coming up from behind is creepy and terrifying. The price seems fair (I got it for free for testing purpose, but for the amount of hours that you will most likely spent, it should be fair). so if you are searching for another horror game: Go get it :)
Good Game/Concept, The only thing I wish is, more optimization, Because the game can fall back on the FPS at times. Otherwise good. 7/10.
Trash. The commands are so complicated and useless. You can't hide of monster, if it apperars, you can't do anything without die, or be, you can't fight nor hide. Crap game.
