[h1]An interesting premise with strong potential, but far too short and simple[/h1]
I have to agree with the other negative reviews. This game is short, simple, and bare. Whilst it looks nice enough, seems to run fine, and does what it says on the tin (gives you a goal of purchasing 12 shipping containers), there really isn't much variety or substance.
The core gameplay loop is this:
[List][*]bid on an auction from your laptop, and keep bidding until an RNG based system stops "bidding" against you... or give up if the lot gets too expensive
[*] go to the container you purchased, discard garbage & open boxes to see what goods you've randomly acquired, and automatically send them to your "storage" (if it doesn't exceed your storage limit)
[*] if you find a any keys, go check the corresponding storage unit in a different area for bonus loot
[*] sell any goods from your laptop, or keep certain items to fill out "orders" for more money
[*]maybe upgrade your storage limit
[*] rinse and repeat[/list]
The gameplay itself isn't terrible. There's a small element of risk with the auction system, there's loot collecting, and finding keys that can open other storage units is a nice bonus. [b]But that's all there is[/b]. The gameplay loop I outlined is the whole game, with no other meaningful aspects or features. Not even simple bits of flare, like adding unique notes or graffiti in some containers/ units, or humorous/ bizarre/[i]concerning[/i] assortments of items. It's mostly just containers full of boxes and garbage bags.
This would be fine if this game was a demo or an early access build... But considering the price, there's not enough content to consider this a full game.
What I'd like to see with a game like this would simply be more content, more aspects, and/ or more gameplay elements. Maybe a basic storyline with other locations and characters involved. Perhaps some form of exploration, where you could find bonus loot, collectables, or NPCs to interact with. Even simply adding 3D models for the loot you collect would be a start - especially if the game allowed you to interact with them, and/ or used a physics engine for collecting and transporting your goods back to your office (e.g. having to load them into a truck, maybe even needing to clean/ fix/ strip certain objects down for parts before selling).
Overall, I feel like this game had a lot of potential, and could've been a great little experience. But instead it just stopped short after doing the bare minimum.
