First, the negative stuff: Combat is horrific and doesn't fit the game. I don't like the Dark Souls approach of wasting your time by re-doing the same sections over and over until you figured out how to play it perfectly. If you like that, go ahead, but that really annoyed me to the end of the game. Additionally, combat feels extremely sluggish. Sometimes it feels like inputs are delayed, sometimes they are not registered at all. Looking into the discussions I'm not the only one with this issue. In a game were every single dodge counts, this makes the combat sections even more annoying. Having to farm for consumables, which have to be bought and do not restore on death also felt wrong. But in the end I was predominantly finding positive feelings for the game. The concept of building a manual to learn about the game, lore and puzzles is great. It allows you to focus on the game, as you don't have to make so many external notes (until late, late game). Exploration and puzzles are great. There are always many paths to go, but by following the manual it's quite easy to understand which is the correct one to make progress without running into a wall. Puzzles increase in difficulty over time, from easy, to quite challenging during the final parts of the "main" game with additional stuff to learn to unlock even more content within the game outside the story. Did you notice the glyphs above and below the games title? That's one of the languages in the game you can actually learn and use. The game has also great options to basically turn off combat, which made this become a recommendation in the end. Not only can you reduce combat difficulty (which made one boss doable without too much time invest for me), you can also disable all damage to your character, which then again allowed me some late game exploration and testing without having to worry about enemies. Again, some people might like the challenge, I don't like killing the same enemies for the 25th time while searching for something. So in the end we have a great puzzler with cute graphics. Combat is an issue (for me), but can be adjusted. Exploration is fun and comprehensible, sound and music done well. If you like thinking AND difficult combat, this is the game for you. Otherwise guides and difficulty settings are available, but the game might feel a bit expensive if bigger parts are trivialized and the game thus becoming much shorter.

One of the best games I have ever played :3
Probably the most fun I have had in a game in years. Just about everything in this game was fun to figure out and solve. Absolutely loved the hidden puzzles and how much depth there is and how connected the game is. Just about everywhere I went had some sort of purpose or meaning, it was a blast all around. The best part of it all though, I never once felt forced to do something. Everything that I did it was because I wanted to do it. The rest contains spoilers for some endgame mechanics and puzzles, although these spoilers will not go into any specifics
Most of the puzzles for the secret treasures were really fun, although I had accidentally spoiled myself on the locations of some of the puzzles in an attempt to find any hidden consumables I had missed (no chest left unturned). I did however solve all the puzzles which I felt very happy in doing, despite that misplay. A puzzle of note that got me to really get dirty was Secret Treasure 4 (Vintage), which was a bit tricky as I was not expecting to have the decipher the language since the rest of the puzzles did not require that. Learning said language and how it worked was very interesting, albeit very difficult for me in particular, so I had to resort to using a key (I did all the translations for in game puzzles myself despite that). This leads to my two favorite puzzles: The Door in the Mountains and the Glyph Tower. Solving these two were incredibly fun and I felt very cathartic upon solving them. The Door in the Mountains was fun in that it required most of the manual to solve, so piecing it all together felt like I was going through the game again. The Glyph Tower surprisingly did not take a lot of theory crafting (I was able to clock one bit, though got stuck on the other for a little bit (had to ask some others to confirm my theories). Upon solving it I didn't quite understand because I was expecting something tangible like the rest of the puzzles offer, though I was lucky to have actually wanted to bother to translate the glyphs upon people's requests. I had absolutely FUMBLED on the meaning of it though and needed to look up more stuff to learn its true meaning (I will admit me looking it up at all was at least on the right track). And based on that solution... Yeah that was mildly terrifying to look at.
This is all to say, absolutely loved this game and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone remotely interested. 10/10
Fantastic game was a joy to play :)
This might be the best game ever made. Might.
Increíble. Magnífico. Sublime.
Great!

What an experience! The game immediately gave me Zelda vibes and activated all my nostalgia neurons, but it's a lot more than it seems. A more accurate description would be if Dark Souls and Legend of Zelda had a child who wears Link's face as a mask and cranks the cryptic puzzles up to 11. The challenges are always fair, rarely frustrating. There's always a hint somewhere and it feels hella satisfying if you find it yourself. Don't forget to RTFM, not only if you're stuck. Please give us Tunic 2! :)
I expected it to be a goofy easy game, but it actually has some difficulty to it. The overall style and lore of the game is awesome.
