fun game and lowkey not as hard as people make it out to be but the puzzles are stupid as ♥♥♥♥ and were definitely not for me. best engaged with in a surface level manner (like as far as completing the manual) unless you're really into puzzles and
pressing the d-pad in increasingly long and annoying sequences
Was a great time, many zelda memories.
still don't know what's going on
To put it simply... its incredible
As many other people have said, looking up anything during your first playthrough of this game will diminish your overall enjoyment of the game and impact the experience it provides. Though there's no shame in using a guide once you've beaten the game to get all of the remaining achievements. Some of them can be rather complicated to get. But try to get them without a guide first, it can still be very rewarding to figure things out yourself.
This was fun to play through but I was surprised just how much the gameplay changed as I progressed. The first third is a Zelda-like action/adventure, the second third is an unforgiving Souls-like, and the third half is a lateral-thinking puzzler akin to The Witness or Myst. The transition is jarring - "should I look for a stronger weapon before taking on this boss or do I just need to git gud?" - but each phase on its own is very well executed.
play this game if you enjoy overarching puzzles surrounding a fun (and difficult at times) exploratory experience. It's essentially Legend of Zelda-esque romp through a mysterious land that you'll need a pen and paper to decipher the secrets of. It's really, really good. I finished it once on switch, though I didn't 100% the game. Any amount of progression is tied to your puzzle solving skills, and when your arsenal reaches a certain point, you get rewarded for thinking laterally.
This game is if you combined the best aspects of The Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past and Outer Wilds into one. Genuinely Amazing.
Combat isn't usually my thing but I enjoyed it in this game. The puzzles were interesting and the language was fun to decipher. I wish there was more knowledge-based progression. There are some genuine examples, but there are also other times where the game teaches you something that it looks like you could have done all along, but actually this is the first time it matters and had you known earlier it would have done nothing for you.
