True Driver

Almost casual driving game where you complete repetitive challenges. Innocent fun for quick achievements. Controls are "Indie". This means that a car is not behaving like it should. Turning left and right feels like the car chassis is stuck on wheels of a shopping trolley. Also, since gamepad controls are not supported, you can only play with a keyboard. The car selection is extremely limited. All you get to play with are four cars that have a familiar shape but are devoid of any logos. It makes no difference which one you choose because they all behave the same. The primary mode is freeroam, in which you drive throughout two small regions and complete challenges. The simple yet useful minimap reveals exactly where the challenges are situated, eliminating the need to search for them. The locations are dull. There are multiple enclosed areas, such as a construction yard or a warehouse, with grass, trees, and a road separating them. There's also a lake you should avoid at all costs. If you drive inside, you will respawn at the beginning. By the way, you start from the same spot every time you play the game. Challenges come in four types that repeat throughout the game. With the exception of one challenge in which you must find fuel canisters before you run out of gas, the other three have no time limit and can be played forever. In the three remaining challenges, you must find large coins spread throughout the area, hit checkpoints while avoiding large wooden posts - if you hit even one, you must restart the game - and locate a car by following a beeping sound. This challenge is the worst because the sound of your engine suffocates the beeping sound and you get the same beep regardless of your location. The fact that the car can be anywhere in the generic environment doesn’t help either. Even though challenges take place in small contained areas, missing a coin, fuel tank, or checkpoint is still frustrating. There is no waypoint or other useful feature to lead you to the nearest mark. Again, the gasoline tank is the worst offender due to its small size and color, which blends in with the environment. Another poor design decision is that when you complete a task, it is neither removed or marked. The only indication of a completed challenge is seen in the achievements. You can clearly identify which ones you don't have because you gain an achievement for each finished challenge. Once you’re done with the challenges, you can go for two other modes. The first mode is "countdown," in which you choose one of 16 tracks and race against the clock in a single lap. Despite the fact that you race on various tracks, everything is very empty and easy. And the second mode is a race against a helicopter on four tracks.

Moc povedená závodní hra, která obsahuje nevšední a zajímavé prvky, které velice přidávají na hratelnosti. Hra se snaží být v sekci závodních her velice originální a za mě musím říct, že se jí to velice daří. Dále je velmi super variace map a možnosti interakce s většinou objektů na mapách a tím pádem se může hráč zabavit různým pokoušením věci srazit či rozbít. V neposlední řádě musím též pochválit vyváženou obtížnost levelů, které jsou zábavné a zároveň přiměřené obtížné a s tímto se u her, zvláště u závodních, velmi málo setkávám. Za mě velmi super hra se super potenciálem a doufám, že další hry budou ještě lepší.

Pěkná hra na odreagování. Hra obsahuje několik režimů, například Freemode, ten vás vezme do velké otevřené mapy kde můžete plnit různé výzvy, a nebo třeba Helirace, v tomto režimu zase musíte předehnat helikoptéru v závodě. Za svoji cenovku si myslím že hra vůbec není špatná a myslím si že z ní dostanete několik hodin zábavy.
