The game has the same structure as "Plants vs Zombies" (or PvsZ the original GOTY edition). PvsZ is one of my all time favorite games. This wasn't the same, but it was still good. Maybe, it doesn't seem as good because the genre is exhausted. It's been 16 years since the original game, and TD players have moved on. Anyone who hasn't played the original PvsZ should do that first, then, if they still have the desire to play a similar game, this is the right choice. Overall, it is a fine game, but it is not as sophisticated as the original in some ways. It also drags quite a lot since many stages are exactly the same, with very little difference. So, you keep using the exact same strategies to win. I may play more, off and on, and if I find something more worth mentioning, I will write an update.

This is a plants vs zombies clone obviously. Nothing wrong with that, especially since plants vs zombies has gone free to play and is owned by EA. Trolls vs Vikings is honestly priced. I want to like this but it's not very good. It's fun for a bit, don't get me wrong. But it's definitely "less than". Megapop did nothing to differentiate this from it's inspiration. It's uninspired, very easy and short. After the main campaign you can try higher difficulties but it's a grind to get the upgrades needed to get there. I don't like games that waste my time. In the end this one gets a thumbs down, not because it's bad but because I can't recommend it. There are much better tower defense games and it's not good enough to scratch that plants vs zombies itch.
