About
Trigwa is a problem solving game with a narrative. Each puzzle tells part of a larger story, which is interwoven and elaborated upon by someone the player will have to make an unwilling truce with...
You, as The Stranger, have heeded the call for help from a faraway land, shunned by most and known for its strange ways and obsession with its once greater past.
Solve puzzles in a vast underground tomb spanning several floors and unravel the history of the land, room by room, floor by floor.
How to play:
The game will run using GBCbag 2 by EASTPIXEL, a packing app for playing games made to run on a Game Boy. Please note that GBCbag 2 is not compatible with the Steam Deck.
Requires Windows 10/11. For Linux and macOS users, find the file game.gb in the folder "Game" and run it separately in an emulator (Sameboy, bgb or Mesen recommended).

Full disclosure: I both wrote and tested for this game, and I'm in close friendship with the developer. First work of said developer, and a total blast. A kind of historical fiction set on a fallen Kingdom, cursed by its former ruler. The setting and general mood of the game is dark and somber, with tiny bits of light that keep it from becoming hopeless or nihilistic. I'm like of most puzzles and the art is immaculate. Also has a new game + bonus I'm quite fond of.
I tried out the demo and it was very nostalgic of the RPG games I used to play on my gameboy growing up. It took me a while to figure out what exactly the story/hint was referring to for each room and while it did take a few tries, the puzzles were interesting. I really wanted to solve them no matter what. My only issue is that it was recommended to be played in fullscreen but there's no option to quit other than going back to windowed mode and the hitting the x to end game. I feel like it might have been delibrate since to turn a gameboy off we'd just flip the switch but I wish there was an option in the game menu (where you bring up the head) that has an exit option.

Smart little puzzle game that narrates the game through the puzzles itself, cool concept. Some of the puzzles were really original, specially towards the end.
