Kurt’s goal is to escape from the clutches of productivity and guilt, imposed on him by the omnipresent "Tragala," a terrifying network of interlinked junjumas. Throughout the journey, Kurt faces both logical and emotional puzzles, as he seeks a way out of a world dominated by machines.

🎮Gameplay:

🔸Tragala attempts to evoke the charm of classic point-and-click adventures, but unfortunately, the mechanics fall short. The controls are unintuitive, and bugs are rampant, making simple actions frustrating. The game is divided into two modes: Classic Mode and Meta Mode. The Classic Mode is supposed to follow a more traditional gameplay style, while Meta Mode adds a layer of meta-narrative elements. However, switching between modes can lead to progression issues and save corruption. ------🔹 A major flaw is the lack of interaction depth. Most objects can’t be examined, making exploration unsatisfying. You’ll frequently encounter rooms filled with clickable items that simply don’t react. The few puzzles present in the game do show potential, but the game’s numerous technical issues, such as broken dialogues, untranslated lines, and unresponsive UI, make solving them a chore. ------🔹 One of the biggest issues is the save/load system, which can break the game. Progressing in a linear manner is hindered by errors that load you into incorrect states, rendering the game nearly unplayable at times. For example, attempting to restart the game can lead to bizarre scenarios where you retain items from your previous run, yet start at the beginning again, causing a frustrating loop of broken continuity. Until these issues are fixed, the overall gameplay experience is unfortunately very poor.

📷Graphics and Audio:

🔸 The visual design is one of the few areas where Tragala shows promise. The hand-drawn art style blends classic cartoon aesthetics with surreal, dystopian elements. The vibrant color palette juxtaposed against the darker themes helps set a unique tone. However, the animations lack polish, and certain transitions feel abrupt. Some rooms have a distinct visual flair, but others feel empty and uninspired. While it’s clear there is a vision here, the execution feels half-finished, making it difficult to appreciate the art direction as intended.

📝Main Pros and Cons:
🟩Pros- +Nostalgic point-and-click design +Unique and colourful cartoon art style 🟥Cons- -Major bugs affecting gameplay and save functionality -Shallow interactions with environment objects -Poor localisation and untranslated dialogue -Repetitive and lacklustre audio -Lacks polish, feels unfinished
✉️Miscellaneous Information:
Multiple endings- The game seems to have different paths depending on your choices, but due to the issues with progression, seeing all endings might be challenging. There are hints at multiple conclusions, but they may not all be accessible in the game’s current state.
😇Verdict:

🔸 Tragala has an intriguing premise and the potential to be a thought-provoking experience, but in its current form, it’s plagued by technical issues and a lack of polish. While the visual style and story concept show promise, the frequent bugs and frustrating gameplay design make it hard to recommend. If you're a fan of quirky, experimental indie games and don’t mind a rough experience, Tragala might be worth trying during a sale. For everyone else, it’s best to wait for significant updates.

Rating: 4.5/10 Clicking but nothing is happening.
TLDR: A bug riddled mess. General Thoughts/Overview: Tragala needs some thorough testing. THOROUGH. Testing. We are Kurt. That’s literally all I can tell you about him… I think he’s an Elton John fan? Anyway, we’re trapped in a maniac mansion/day of the tentacle inspired house (without the thought) and held hostage by blind robots. Our mission seems to be to escape… although the paths out are entirely open and could easily be crossed, so I’m not sure why the character doesn’t just … walk away? I guess? But I guess that wouldn’t be much of a game, so they need to find a convoluted path to freedom through the house. I played the classic edition, because I felt like that would have been more polished. Pros:

I enjoyed the nostalgia baiting with the CRT monitor like appearance, but I wish I could have turned it off later as it did… get old (hur hur hur).
While it draws clear inspiration from the old classic point and click adventures, the art style is also quite unique, with a blend of styles giving it a strange and alien feel. With more time to cook, or more hands on deck, I feel like this could have been a very unique looking piece.
There seems to be a fair amount to do. For what feels like a one man band at work, there is a surprising amount of places to visit and things to interact with. However this is a double edged sword, as I’ll come to.
Cons:

To finish up the double edged sword, the world feels quite empty. There are rooms and rooms to look at, but they tell us very little. These could easily be used for environmental storytelling and the odd lore dump, but they aren’t, and thus feel like wasted opportunities.
There are so many translation errors, poorly translated lines, untranslated lines (or lines that draw from the wrong script), and lazy ‘you can’t examine this’ notes. I’m not sure why the game offers language support when half of it isn’t translated.
With no voice acting and extremely limited variation in the already unpleasant ‘music’, the sound just grates on me. I ended up muting it and just playing my own music.
Dialogue flashes before crawling across the screen. It can flash so fast and so many times I’m fairly sure I was close to having a fit, and I’m not epileptic.
Finally, there are so many technical errors the game is barely playable. Bugs I encountered include, but are not limited to: Crashing to desktop. Save file corruption. Save file continuity errors. Loading games loading in in the wrong place/with the wrong inventory. The dialogue boxes being unaligned, making reading difficult. The inventory covering a large chunk of the top of the screen. Not being able to restart the game to test if I’d dead ended it because it just loads me back into a random save. Not being able to talk to NPC’s.
Suggested improvements:

Basic QoL improvements: Double click to move. A hot spot detector. Auto saves. A tutorial that encompasses all the buttons. Basics that improve a game no end.
The world feels empty. More things to investigate, some environmental storytelling, more things to examine and learn about. Small changes which add depth to the world and the characters.
More animations and end points. People need to do things, they need to have expression through the world.
FIX. THE. BUGS.
Overall Recommendation: In its current state, I can’t recommend this game, to anyone really. On the off chance a dev reads this, I have also encountered these errors: NDia_Cocina_37_P Dia_Salatopia_03_P Apologies if I misreported the lines. My curator page with reviews by genre. In case you want to find more games, or even reviews, like this one.
To start with the positives, Tragala has an interesting plot where your player character, the human Kurt attempts to escape a house system that is run by robots. Also, the backgrounds have been beautifully drawn and the music is catchy. Unfortunately, the game is let down by a couple of significant flaws. First, I would click on many objects only to be met with the message, 'You can't examine this'. Also, when I clicked on a couple of doorways, I was unable to go through, and there was text on the screen in Spanish, even though I had chosen English as the language. These took me out of the experience, and I found myself not enjoying it as a result. The game feels like it has been released as an unfinished product, and more testing would have been beneficial before release. Due to these reasons, I was unable to continue past the first hour of this game in its state of the time of writing. There was potential, so it's a real pity.
Tragala feels like a trip BUT the saving and loading system can bug the game along with trying to start over. I messed up and tried to start over from the beginning but it kept my progress while putting me back at the beginning making it so i could not get further. The game is interesting though i had to change from classic mode to meta mode to be able to start fresh. until a new update fixes this ill have to say i am very neutral 5/10
