My Playtime: 5h (finished the game)
Intro
Traffix is a game where you control traffic lights to control the traffic flow. It has 32 levels with different setups. Pros: - 32 levels - Gameplay is easy to understand Cons: - Boring gameplay - Sometimes, more than one car will pass even though you only want one car to pass - Each level takes too long to finish, especially near the end Specs Intel Core i5-9300H 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Should you buy this game?
No. Sadly, the game is too repetitive and mind-numbing for me.

In-Depth Review

Visuals
Traffix uses simplistic visuals with vibrant colors. Each level has a certain color theme with a gradient that makes them look beautiful. The UI placement is also neat and clean to the eye.
The Game
Gameplay In Traffix, you need to control the traffic flow by changing the traffic lights. Red means no car can pass, yellow means only one car can pass—which will move to red after that happens, and green means that all cars can pass. You can control it by using the left mouse click in each traffic light. Your job is to make sure that no car crashes. There will be other lanes where all cars will intersect, and you need to tweak the traffic light so that the car in your lane won't crash with the others. Once the car leaves the traffic light, you won't be able to control it, making timing important. Luckily, having less than ten crashes is still acceptable to finish the level. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2175326365 Sometimes, I feel like I'm just controlling the traffic lights to make sure the car fits the space between the existing cars. Some levels have a lane leading to busy traffic and the cars that spawn in that traffic light tend to have a slow spawn rate. You end up having to release the cars one by one to make sure that there won't be any crashes. Some levels force you to click the traffic lights in a certain pattern. While I prefer to do it this way, sometimes, it can be mind-numbing, especially in levels where you have to advance the cars one by one. The levels near the end tend to be this way, forcing you to click 100+ times just to finish the level. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2175326436 Some cars will be hidden beneath an overpass, forcing you to remember their location before you can send your car in. I found these levels to be poorly designed because they just make the level more annoying than usual. The game seems to think that increasing the time that you take to finish each level to be the definition of difficult. The latter levels require more cars to pass your street, which just adds more to the gameplay time. I prefer if the level layout to be more complex and chaotic rather than making it like this. It's just mind-numbing, and as someone who can't focus for a long time, I tend to fail just because my focus breaks midway. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2175326402 Length and Difficulty I finished the game in 5h. I tried to finish all but the last two levels without crashes. Some levels are easy—you just need to remember the pattern and mindlessly click it until you are done. Others require timing to beat, with you having to time your click to ensure that the car fits the space between the other cars. It wasn't hard to finish the game as long as you didn't finish it perfectly, especially since it will take a lot of retries and sometimes RNG to accomplish. Finishing each level with no crashes will unlock chaos mode, which is basically the same level but only with patrol cars—small cars that will force you to restart the level if that particular car crashes. To be honest, I don't feel any difference playing the game in this mode—it feels like playing the same level all over again. Issues Sometimes the game is bugged. It will allow two cars in a yellow light, even though a yellow light should mean that only one car can pass. Second, there is no hotkey to make the traffic light switch easier. Lastly, it can be hard to switch from yellow to red. Doing another single click will end up changing it to green, and you need to wait a bit before you can change it to red. This can be fatal if you accidentally change the traffic light.
Conclusion
Despite the initial impression, I didn't feel like controlling the traffic in Traffix. I was just fitting a car between gaps most of the time, doing it one by one. It can be mind-numbing and boring to finish the level, and the game just forces you to play the game longer in the latter levels. Sadly, it was boring.
Puzzle game / traffic management game that is all about manually controlling traffic at specific intersections, and allowing cars to go through once it is safe to do so. Relaxing and straightforward enough to play, with decent looking minimaistic colorful graphics. At times, multiple cars will go through even though you only intended for one to go. No proper Widescreen support is a major issue, as it cuts down a considerable amount of real estate at the top and bottom. Game would benefit from music in the proper maps, it only has a single repetitive track in the menu. No achievements or Steam cards is minor issue of note for game collectors in Steam. Overall, an ok game to kill some time in between things, but overpriced for the content it offers. 6/10
Contrôlez la circulation! Décidez du passage des voitures et évitez les accidents!
4/10 its only 5$ get it if you want it the amount of people i got killed this game should be called traffux - double clicking for green an awful idea, why not right click? most of my deaths come from going too fast and it becomes a double click green.... - chaos mode is dumb.... + 32 levels
It's clear that the devs of this game don't care about user experience. It's a really bad mobile port: the level selection is done by clicking and dragging a list up and down, which makes absolutely no sense with a mouse. No wonder another reviewer thought it to be impossible to switch levels. I thought so too at first. Changing traffic lights to green red or yellow is all done by left clicking on the lights. You can imagine how often it happens that you quickly want to change something to red but then accidently turn it to green when it is already stressfull. Ah yes, stressfull. As the play store page claims: "Calming: Traffix will not force you to think too hard. Each new city will amaze your senses and help you to relax." There is nothing calming about this: you simply switch from traffic light to traffic light as quick as possible and try to let cars pass. Trying to watch several lanes at the same time is stressfull as hell. But yes, it is true, it does force you to think too hard, but that's because there is nothing to think about. If the lane is free, you let cars go. There is nothing more to it. Which makes me question how anyone would consider this to be a puzzle game? Somehow this game is unbelievably boring and very stressful at the same time. Congrats, I guess...
I hate this game
Traffix is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The game is a very basic organisation game where you swipe your finger on your iPhone screen to direct traffic in a number of fictional scenarios with names of real cities that don't correspond to real cities. As if this mobile trash doesn't have enough annoyances already. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of just 7 players. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a week, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason, PC gamers don't like mobile app garbage. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $5 USD, on app stores, it's just $2. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay MORE THAN TWICE THE PRICE for a cheap mobile game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this is a mobile app, is priced to insult and gouge PC gamers, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Just who do they think we are?
It looks nice but it was really frustrating to play.
Слишком мало уровней в игре. На мобильной версии в 3 раза больше уровней
