Rating: 7/10 TrackMania² Valley offers a refreshing change of pace in the TrackMania² series with its gorgeously detailed environments and tighter, more technical tracks. While it maintains the series' high-speed arcade racing, the focus on precision and the switch to a more realistic car physics model sets it apart. Though it introduces some exciting new features, it suffers from some issues that might deter casual players. What Works Well? 🏞️ Stunning Visuals and Landscapes Valley offers a breathtaking environment with lush forests, sweeping valleys, and towering mountains. The visual fidelity of the terrain and the day-night cycle create a rich atmosphere. The game is one of the most graphically impressive entries in the TrackMania series. 🚗 More Precise Driving Mechanics Unlike the drift-heavy gameplay of Canyon, Valley’s car handling is more about precision and control. The realistic physics make driving feel challenging, requiring a steadier hand to navigate the tight curves and jumps. It offers a more demanding experience for players who appreciate technical racing. 🛠️ Track Editor and Community Tracks As with other TrackMania games, Valley has a robust track editor and access to community-created tracks. This keeps the gameplay fresh as players can always find new, exciting challenges or create their own. The creative freedom in track design is limitless. 🏆 Competitive Scene The game's precise driving mechanics and beautifully designed tracks provide a solid foundation for competitive play. Time trials, multiplayer races, and community challenges keep players engaged and striving for better results. Valley offers a good balance of fun and competitiveness. What Could Be Better? ❌ Steep Learning Curve The realistic physics and technical nature of the tracks may be off-putting for casual players. Unlike other environments in the series, Valley demands more skill to master the car’s handling, making it difficult for new players to feel confident on the track. It can quickly become frustrating for those unfamiliar with precision-based racing. ❌ Lack of Variety While the environment is visually stunning, the track variety doesn’t feel as diverse as in other TrackMania games. The focus on realistic terrain and obstacles means many tracks are similarly designed with fewer over-the-top stunts and crazier layouts. This may leave players seeking a bit more diversity in track challenges. ❌ Fragmented Player Base As with other titles in the TrackMania² series, the player base is split across different environments, which can make it difficult to find a consistent multiplayer experience. If you're mainly looking for competitive multiplayer racing, the smaller player base might be limiting. Conclusion TrackMania² Valley is a gorgeous, technical racing game that focuses on precision driving and beautiful landscapes. However, its steep learning curve and lack of variety may discourage casual players. For fans of challenging, skill-based racing, it's definitely worth a try, but if you're looking for something lighter or more varied, it might not be for you. Rating: 7/10 – A fantastic technical racer for skilled players, but not the most accessible for newcomers. 🏁🌄
This is one of the cases, where I wished, steam had a neutral/informative option, but alas this is not the case. I really enjoyed the game in the beginning on the white and green tracks. The handling of the valley car needs some getting used to, but isn't too bad after a few hours of practice. I would recommend playing with a controller, as I had an easier time adjusting to the mechanics with a controller, than with a keyboard. The main issue I have with the game are the tracks. You see, the valley car really shines on the dirt tracks and there are some tracks which really fit the car and where driving is fun. But unfortunately, most tracks here are road type tracks and furthermore, mostly awful ones at that. If you only play the white and green tracks, you probably won't even notice the issues with the tracks, because they only really start in the blue and red tracks to show. It almost feels like the tracks were specifically designed for the players to not have fun. There are also too many tracks with ramps (jump high up in the air on one ramp and land on another ramp to the left or right), where you need to drive the track a copious amount of times to hopefully get a very specific line in order to get gold. And good luck with getting the author medals on some of those tracks. Now, I know that it isn't supposed to be easy to get the author medal on every track, but with these tracks it's just not fun hunting them and that's why I quit. I remember a red track (can't remember which one), where you have to jump through two loopings at the beginning, but the two loopings have lamp posts protruding towards the middle. So, the area to jump through the loopings is way too small, and it becomes an exercise in trial-and-error to get a “clean” jump. Overall, it's not a bad game, but it became way too frustrating for me to grind the later tracks.
Loved the original Trackmania (2003), I have the original disc with the Power Up pack Sunrise, and even United and Nations were good too. Even bought the Celebrat10n TrackMania Complete Pack to play with the newer ones later. But... The ManiaPlanet makes the whole thing a mess! Tried to add an earlier car model (which I played in 2015), and couldn't find the actual in the Workshop, which I was pretty sure it was up there and subbed to it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=422395677 Found the actual model on Maniapark, hooray! And the trouble starts here... Find the actual folder where are the game files lurking... Couldn't you just put it in the Steam library folder, like normally? Okay, did what I had to. Looking for the actual car in game, selecting it, then I'm realizing that I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! WHAT? No problem, I have lots of credits or whatever on Maniaplanet... I HAVE TO VERIFY THE PURCHASE WITH A CODE which I don't even have! Searching the way to resend that code for myself and "paying" the "tribute" to the modder (deserves it, that's not a issue), but...couldn't find it. Can't log in to Maniaplanet, and can't reset the password, since seems like that my account doesn't even exist... The launcher thingy just making an actually good game BAD... I'm pretty sure that I didn't had to make this back in 2015. And I guess this thing applies to all TrackMania² games (Canyon, Stadium, Lagoon and Valley)
Really great game and these graphics are still awesome! Absolutely fun to play with friends. Also map creating is really good and everything in this game reminds of 2008 <3

Best trackmania environment if you ask me. Maybe not for everyone though.
man, i lost my key and can't recover my account. It's also somehow worse than i remember it. Even when i could play it, i couldn't figure out how to actually start a level :(, feels dead to me
