Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Players don't play properly. They just vote out literally anyone they pick randomly. If you are mafia, you can win without doing anything. The chat is overrun with players using vulgar language, and it seems like reports do nothing. Wouldn't recommend getting this game.

I’m convinced this game created a generation of gaslighters and narcissists
I'd follow this game for a few years and see if it manages to recover. It's been about three years since it really dropped into a bad spot; low numbers, long lobbies, and what games you do get in are typically filled with awful players. The moderation is poor, you will likely get banned and your appeal will likely be denied. There are the obvious legitimate bans, but you can also get banned if too many players report you, EX: If you are learning the game, but players believe you are throwing, you could get banned, and the staff are not exactly keen on helping you. This game used to be a lot of fun. If it ever returned to that state, it is 100% worth 5$. Right now though, go buy a soda. Get an hour of enjoyment out of that, because you won't get it out of this game. I hope it recovers, because it has potential.
The game as a whole is fun however it is currently suffering from the fact that it's over 10 years old and depending on the time of the day can have anywhere from 20 to 300 players. The system says 4000+ however 8/10 times I will stumble upon the same exact group of people for hours with little to no variety. That is fine however some of the players are quite toxic and are there to just wreak havoc by throwing games on purpose or by harassing people and while there is a reporting system it feels as if there is 1 person keeping an eye on things and they are trying to catch up on sleep and by the time they ban those players they have made new accounts and are back at it again. The reason I am recommending this is because the game is fun. However I do advise you take the time to read up on how the game is played since you don't exactly get a tutorial.
I got banned from reports from 3+ years ago. Says that my initial account that was banned prohibits me from creating a new account so I just can't play the game ever again??
Game is dead do not waste your money
Fun game, I like it much better than the sequel. Though I have my issues with it, it's a fun take on the social deduction genre, where there are a myriad of interesting roles to be and no one is just a boring "villager" with nothing to do (aside from maybe Survivors). I wish it had a larger playerbase, but most everyone's migrated to TOS2. Coven expansion is definitely worth it. (Coven) Town Traitor is the most interesting gamemode, but (Coven) All Any gets the most players.
I left this game open on my computer for like 2 months straight. Pretty good game though!
